I remember someone inquiring about Delaney's accident so I thought I'd post the bonus chapter that's been forgotten in my drafts for two years lol 🤦🏾‍♀️

"Daddy! I'm goin' to work! You gon' be alright?"

"Oh I'm fine. Gon' on. Don't be late." Delaney's father replied as he shuffled out of the kitchen with a glass of water in hand. He'd been sick the last few days and Delaney and her sister took turns checking on him throughout the day.

"Ok." She smiled warmly, kissing his cheek before heading towards the door again.

"Dee Dee gon' be by later to check on you and bring dinner. I love you, ol' man."

Once she heard her father's response, she left the house– making sure to lock the door behind her. She still had a key to her childhood home even though she had moved out a year ago.

Delaney was growing into her own as a local stylist and makeup artist. Just about everyone  in Baton Rouge sought out her services and she was making a name for herself. To style and prime the stars was her dream and she was well on her way.

She got into her car, starting it then sitting for a moment to answer the incoming Skype call from a guy she'd met on her birthday a few months ago, Florian. He was like no other man she'd ever met and he was smitten with her– and she was for him as well. It didn't take long for them evolve into something more than pen pals. They'd officially been dating for a month now and she truly enjoyed talking to him. His smile was contagious too.

"Well, good afternoon sir." She smiled into the camera, making Florian smile even wider. He loved seeing her face and even with the time difference he knew just when to call.

"Good morning to you, printesa." He responded, combing through his beard.

Delaney set the phone on the holder she had on her dashboard; putting her car in reverse to back out of the driveway as they spoke.

"How was your day, handsome?" She asked as she carefully drove down the block to a stop sign.

"Good. Got some training in. I had a phone call with a casting director  for a big movie!" He beamed like a child and Delaney couldn't help but chuckle.

"Well what is it?"

"Can't tell you yet." He teased. Delaney shook her head with a smile on her face.

"Well, I better be one of the first to know when you CAN tell someone."

"Of course." He chortled. Florian and Delaney met while she was on vacation in Germany. She walked into the hookah bar he frequented often with his friends. The moment he saw her, he knew he had to get her attention– that wouldn't be hard for Florian. He was hard to miss with his size; he was handsome, and extremely charming. All things he knew about himself.

Delaney and her friends had a booth right next to Florian and his friends, who broke the ice by wishing Delaney a happy birthday. She had a birthday sash on over her skin tight dress, and a crown on top of her head of curls. Florian wished her a a happy birthday and insisted on buying her and her friends drinks as a gift. The rest was history. They exchanged numbers and that was that.

They'd spoken almost everyday for the last three months and Florian wouldn't have had it any other way. Well, that's untrue. He would've  preferred then to be in the same city; the same house really. He was falling hard for her.

Florian loved her laugh. Her brown eyes twinkled all the time and her skin was immaculate– even with the blemishes she covered with make up as if he didn't know. Her tan skin was soft and many nights he dreamt of touching her sweetly.
