I was running as fast as I can and like a horse with blinders on, I was only focused on how to get faster to Penny. But knowing she was already under Ate Pat's care, I was a bit relieved. Still, I wanna see her alright, in the flesh.

As I got off the hospital elevator, I bumped into a woman. She was poised and sophisticated, dressed finely like a rich businesswoman, but it was apparent, the sudden contact annoyed her that even my quiet apology wasn't enough to console her.

I already prepared myself for a ranting from the woman. But as she started to take down her big, black shades, her face started to reveal itself to me.

"Ate Pat?"

Earlier, her laser eyes seemed to be beaming through me even with her shades on. Now, it was a comfort to see them go easy.

"She's at the room at the end of the hallway." She calmly told even without me asking her.

"You're already leaving po?" I asked 'cause I thought she was going to wait until Penny was discharged.

"Yes, I have a lot of business to take care of." She reasoned out. "At alam ko rin namang paparating ka na."

Her voice went soft from an earlier harsh tone as she placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Take care of her, Juan. I'm leaving her to your hands.

And please, don't break her heart."
