The wedding dinner was held at the garden itself. When the night came, the teardrop bulbs lighted up and it made the whole place looked like it was filled with fireflies.
Dylan and Yue made a toast to their friends and family members, thanking them for gracing their wedding. It was a small crowd yet cosy. Ying-jie went up to them and shook her hands. "That was a beautiful wedding. Thank you for inviting me." She looked at both of them and beamed. "Both of you surprised me."
Dylan cocked his head. Yue asked "What do you mean, jie?" Ying-jie glanced at Dylan before looking at Yue. "I have said some words that discouraged Didi years ago.....and when you came back and both of you were reunited, I realized that your love had stood the test of time. I was wrong about Didi and you. And for that, I am sorry."
Dylan and Yue felt awkward, to hear his manager apologizing. Yue held her hand. "No apologies needed, jie. You spoke what was needed at that time." Dylan added "Yue's right. That was our test and we passed." "Well-said, Wang He Di". Ying-jie nodded. "A toast to the future!" They held their glasses against hers.
They continue to mingle around. Yue felt Dylan close to her the whole night, his hand on her back, making small circles. "Didi, what are you doing?"
He raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"Your hand."
"Isn't this the reason you wore a low cut back?" He said huskily, kissing her tattoo. "Didi....people are watching."
"Let them be. It's our wedding." He circled his arm around her waist and pulled her close. "I can't wait to whisk you off right now." She giggled.Just at the corner of her eye, she saw the boys and Jia Qi coming their way. "Uh huh, I smell something coming."
"Hey lovebirds!! We just wanna congratulate you personally." Xi Ze said patting Dylan's back. He raised his eyebrow. "You already said that earlier." "Ah yes...."
Then, Xi Zi cleared his throat. "As a wedding tradition, the couple has to pass several tests of their pledge to each other. So we think it's time for the tests." Dylan groaned. Yue exclaimed "I knew this is coming. Okay, bring it on. Didi, we can't escape this." Dylan threw his hands high up in surrender.
Kuan smiled stepping to the front with a balloon. "The first test is for Didi. You're going to sing Jay Chou's Love Confession after each breath of helium gas. We want the whole version!"
Jia Qi squealed. "Oh this is going to be funny." Kang then chipped in "We know how you tend to sing ahem.... off key but with the gas it will sound perfect."
"Perfectly chipmunk voice, you mean." Yue laughed.
Dylan took the balloon from Kuan. "This is easy peasy, Yue. Watch me." But the real thing was not what it seemed. Every time he took a breath, he could only sing half the line before he started laughing at himself and his voice would switch back to normal. Yue's sides were in stiches. "Quickly finish the song Didi, else I'll have cramps from laughing too much!"
