When Dean turned up at his doorstep begging for forgiveness at 2am, Cas was torn.
Three words screamed to be heard, three words he had wished to say for so long. Three words that would say 'I forgive you.' , three words to say 'You can stay with me.' , three words to say 'We can start over.'. Cas had longed to say these three words for so long, those three words to finally say 'My heart is yours.' .
His heart hurt so much from missing his hunter, he needed to tell him those three words -
But then, his mind took over, reminding his of all the pain he had caused his, all the sorrow and the loss, all the anger and the hurt, all the meaningless words made unforgivable, and those three words his heart begged to stay unspoken fell from his mouth;
"You can't stay."
