Come Back To Me

Reia was getting very annoyed at the knocking. Knock knock! Thump! Pound! It was 4AM! Who would be knocking at such an ungastly hour? She groped around for her eyeglasses and quickly put on her robe. She flew down the stairs as the knocking only increased. She reached trhe door and held the brass doorknob, uncertain and hesitant. She's seen enough horror movies to know NOT to open the door at 4 AM. Nevertheless, she swung open the door and presented to her was her ex-boyfriend. 

Linus Yeef. That bastard. They had been together for 6 months until Reia found out he was cheating on her with her sister. Tears had been shed, apologies exchanged and soon everyon moved on. Including Reia. In fact, she was surprised how much she didn't care about how her sister and Linus had been sneaking around together. Maybe because she knew she didn't love him.

Now there he was 3 and a half months later, at Reia's door. His hair was a mess, his eyes had a wild look in them and his breath reaked of alcohol. He was out of breath and his shirt was stained with what seemed to be her sister's famed baked casserole. 

She knew that one day it would come to this. Linus begging her to take him back. And when it did, she would do nothing but slam the door to his face and walk away with her pride and dignity. But seeing him like this struck something inside of Eleanor and for a moment, just for a moment, a look of pity flickered across her face. But no. She would not let him get any satisfaction whatsoever. She shook it off and showed the best poker face she could manage.

"What do you want?" she said, her voice tinged with bitterness.

"Reia, Reia , I'm so sorry. For everything. I made a huge mistake. Please. Come back to me", Linus said on the verge of the tears.

Reia sighed and shook her head. It was 4 AM and she had no energy to scream and shout at Linus. In a few hours, she had to attend what would be just about the most important meeting of her life. 

So instead, she said, "Linus, it's 4AM. Go home. You're drunk and confused. You don't want me back. I don't want you back. I hate you, remember? Go home. Now."  

But all Linus did was stare blankly at her and continued rambling on. "Reia, Reia, my love. I'm sorry. I'm sorry! PLEASE COME BACK-" 

Reia had enough. She kicked him in his balls and said, "Sorry, my ass.", slammed the door and went back to sleep.
