3rd person POV
In this night every inhabitant of the Erebor woke up with a start. No matter if they were in the living area of the dwarves and the hobbit, who conquered the mountain back or if they lived deeper inside the mountain. No one slept on, when Kíli's screams echoed through the Erebor. Thorin woke up and sat as straight as a die in his bed.
"Kíli." murmured the king under the mountain. If he hadn't known, that Kíli just had a nightmare he would have thought, his nephew was being tortured. Shortly after he heard a door open and close. This night Thorin stayed awake, but Kíli didn't return to his room. Early in the morning Thorin got up and put his clothes on to seek for the dwarf he loved like his own son. He found him in the library, shaking. In here it was cold over the night. What was he thinking? Thorin quickly got a blanket and put it over Kíli. Short time later the brown-haired dwarf woke up and looked at his uncle with despair in his big eyes. Thorin knelt beside him and put his hand on the shoulder of the younger.
"It's not your fault, Kíli." he whispered and hugged his nephew. Kíli pressed his face on the others shoulder and slowly stopped shaking. On the one hand, he got warmer, on the other hand he calmed down a bit. After a few minutes he got up and put the rest of his clothes on. Especially warm shoes, otherwise he wouldn't just catch a cold, but death. The dwarves gathered for breakfast in the dining room and without exception, even the Hobbit, looked at Kíli questioningly. The young dwarf retracted the head and sat down without a word. The chair besides Kíli always was empty and everyone knew why. This chair still belonged to his brother for the brown-haired dwarf, but this was something, (y/n) didn't know and she sat down right there. When the dwarves saw this, they hold their breath and waited what Kíli might do. He looked up, opened his mouth a little bit closed it again and shrugged. Then he turned back to his plate and everyone knew that this was much worse than if he had screamed at her. When Kíli didn't care about his brothers death he was mostly ill. Thorin and Bilbo watched him worried while they ate. But Kíli just pushed his food this way and that way on his plate and didn't join the laughter, when everyone else was laughing. (y/n) noticed that something was wrong with the dwarf, who just yesterday had laughed so happily, too, but didn't dared to say something. She didn't feel like she belonged here. The only person, she knew on this table was Bilbo and that made her feel uncomfortable.
When everyone but Kíli finished eating, he got up first and disappeared. The young dwarf wandered around in the mountain and tried to ignore his headache. He didn't want to rest.
