After not hearing from Ira for a week, Janice decided to go check in on him. She saw his truck parked in the driveway and so assumed he was home. However, her knocking went unanswered, so she went inside through the unlocked door. She went through the house, calling Ira's name, but again, there was no answer. She found his bed unmade and empty save for a clear, sticky material all over the sheets. Finally, she went out back to look for him in his woodworking building, but he was not there either. That was when she noticed something strange in the flower garden. There was a strange circular pattern of stones laid out and in the middle of it, surrounded by burnt-out candles, stood a wooden idol of the snake god, Yig.
