Then I saw something, glistening between the reeds ahead of me and my eyes followed it to a shimmering lake. The wind caused waves to lap the shore. Pebbles rolled beneath my feet. The water was as clear as glass, showing all the fish swimming below the surface. I turned and found Tristan staring, mouth open, at something behind me. He brushed past me and stood at the lakes edge. I slowly turned around and staggered back when I saw it. My eyes opened wide and my jaw slowly dropped. Floating balls of light glistened like crystals. I stepped closer. My heart was thumping. Tristan turned to face me with fear in his eyes.
