Skylar's POV
I wake up with a sharp pain shooting through my back. I grimace and stand up carefully.

"Wake up piece of shit you have your first day of school today!" My father books at me from downstairs.

I open my black curtains and the sun blinds me. I take a look around my new room. My bed is in the car left corner. I have an extra door that connects to my own bathroom.

My closet is quiet empty due to the fact that even the thought of shopping makes me want to puke. I have a simple wooden desk nest to my bed. I have large window sill where is keep all my books.

My mother use to say that I had more books than friends. It wasn't a lie. I was- still am a social reject.

My father is angry we moved he doesn't like change. I am not like him. Sometimes I even wonder if he is my real father.

I walk over to my windowsill and pick up the top book. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. I've always loved this book.

As I stare intensely at it I realize I have school today. I put the book down and look up. I see a pair of brown eyes staring at me.

His eyes are light but not light and dark but not dark. I guess it's somewhere in between. I don't get a good look at him before he closes his curtains quickly. I have the nicest neighbor ever!

What a happy morning I'm so entertained. I grab blue jeans an oversized sweater that goes down a little after mid thigh and boots then walk into my bathroom to take a shower.

I quickly grab my backpack and an apple as i speed walk out the door. My father doesn't notice me so I quickly grab my skateboard and skate to school.

I'm almost to school when I hear obnoxiously loud music coming from behind me.

I snap my head back to see a white car going full speed towards the school. I step in one foot so u stop skateboarding.

A guy is literally on top of the roof f the car, and another guy is sticking his head out the window.

"LETS DIE TODAY!" I scream at them with a sweet smile plastered on my face. Roof guys head turns to me and almost falls off the roof startled.

I would've have laughed. Does that make me a bad person? Oh well. They zoom pass me and I start skating again.

I approach the school skateboard in hand. I nearly drop it while looking at the size of my new school.
