The first thing I remember was waking up on a soft bed, my head resting on a pile of pillows. My eyes had opened suddenly as the visions of blood, bright lights, and the faint sound of yelling and beeping faded. There was a dim light in the room, my eyes tried to adjust. While waking up, I felt something lumpy and leathery under me, it made my back ache.

I finally came to my senses. From the corner of my eye, I spotted some people in the room. I kept hearing their hushed voices, one of which was light and airy and sounded as if they could barely hold in their excitement for something, the other two constantly reminding them to keep their voice down. Saying that 'she is still asleep' 'keep quiet' I assumed the 'she' they referenced to was me.

I sat up. My head looked in their direction. Their backs were turned to me. I felt such weight coming from my back, it felt like it was attached to me in some way, but the mysterious visitors kept my attention.

I hesitated to speak."H-hello?" I managed to stutter out. The three turned to me slightly startled by the sudden sound I made. The one with the light and airy voice was a woman. Her appearance matched her voice perfectly, She had bright blonde long curly hair, and wore a long elegant pink dress. She was shorter than the other two.

The next one was another woman. Her style was entirely the opposite. Her hair was short, messy and dark in color. She wore a simple short black dress with white lining, paired black leggings and flats.

Next there was a gentleman. He was quite unusual, he wore a dress shirt, pants, a vest and a cap. His eyes appeared as if they were of two different colors, blue and brown. His hair was as pure white like freshly fallen snow. A bizarre bunch.

The woman with the light and airy voice broke the silence first. "You're up! Oh and your wings are so beautiful." She eagerly said as she pulled me off the bed. I felt her grabbing and stretching something out from my back, it was colored with two different blues and it was leathery and covered with scales. I felt her touch. It made me flinch.

Just then the woman dressed in dark clothing pulled her arms back and scolded her. "Light! You can't just go up and touch her! She has only just woken up and spoken one word." She referred to the first woman as 'Light'. I could only assume that, that was her name. Or maybe a nickname?

I was now on my feet for the first time and I felt my all my muscles stretch out. As I did so an identical scaley sheet stretched out on my other side. I stared at the scally apengases in awe.

"Just look at them! Such a beautiful pairing of Process and Prussian blue." Light said also staring at them. The other woman spoke next but not to Light but to me.

"What's your name dear?" She asked.

"My name?" I question back.

"You do have a name don't you dear?" She asked as she took a step toward me. But not to close, probably not wanting to have me flinching away. Like I did with Light's touch earlier.

"Ummm... I-I think so..." I stood there for a moment thinking. "C-Caitlin. My name is Caitlin." I pulled my hands toward my chest and put on a confident expression. "So what are your names? I mean... I've gathered that yours is Light. But what about you two?" I said gesturing toward Light then, the others. They all looked at one another Light looked excited, the second woman looked ready to share, and the gentleman didn't look all to enthusiastic but one corner of his mouth betrayed him and curled into a smile.

The gentleman spoke first. "Sleepy." He said plainly.

"What?" I asked not understanding.

"You can call me Sleepy. Though my formal name is Henry." He said lying an elegant hand on his chest.

The woman in dark clothing spoke next. "My name is Darci. But you can call me Dark." She gave a small smile, that was gone almost as soon as it came. I gave a smile in return to their responses, then Light spoke up.

"I guess you should also know that my name isn't Light it's Lillian." She said with one of the sweetest smiles I've ever seen. "Though it is fine if you do call me Light." I nodded in response. I had learned their names, and mine, and I felt I could trust them.

I looked back down at myself, noticing my attire. I wore a light pink, flowy open shoulder shirt. Pared with blue jenes and brown boots. This outfit didn't surprise me as much as my wings. This outfit felt natural as if I wore it almost every day of my life.

"Well guess this is where I come in." Sleepy said pulling my attention to him. He moved in front of Light and Dark that way he was centered in front of me. My face must have twisted in confusion because he seemed to read my mind. "Caitlin, I'm about to explain to you where you are, who you are, and what your job is." He gave a reassuring smile as he said something that shocked me.

"Caitlin, this is the Arthor's mansion, all of us, including you are authors, and what we do is that we create stories. And bring them to life." He referenced to the window.
