This is my first so don't judge
Percy was at a supermarket, because it was near the park that Grover was working on, (trying to save the wild and all that shist) and they hadn't seen each other in while, so they met up. Grover needed supplies for a stand he was building, anyway.Percy POV:
We were walking around, Grover oohing and aahing at everything, when we saw a monster. I don't mean like a little kid throwing a fit, I mean an actual monster, right in front of us. It was a hydra, a small one, about 5 ft. I would've laughed if it didn't notice us.The hydra's eyes widened as I took out Riptide. Grover started bleaching.
"Peeeeeercccyyyy!" He said, " I smell something!"
"There is literally a hydra, RIGHT THERE! OF COURSE YOU SMELL SOMETHING!"
"But this isn't the hydra, Percy!" He replied, "I smell something else!"
Just as he said that, the hydra turned it's attention off of us and one of it's heads spun around, and looked strait at a mortal. She was around 12 years old, a brunette. Tanned skin, but not as much as Annabeth, it was like a potato. As soon as the hydra tried to touch her, I attacked...... accidentally chopping off one of the heads. Soon, it grew 2 more, and the potato girl turned.
That was when I was able to see her face.
She was pretty, freckles dotted her face, she had hazel eyes, way too light brown, and the green rimmed around her pupils that was too bright, and she genuinely just radiated a nature lover mood. I didn't know why, though. Her lips were perfectly round, an orange-ish, hot pink-ish shade.
Something else. Grover had told me that he smelt something else. I got an uneasy feeling inside me.
While I was frozen, thinking the thoughts that I think that normal demigods think (at least I hope), Grover busted out his windpipes. I doubted he would have enough time, though.
Then, the potato caught my eye. She whipped out a shiny, dark red dagger and grabbed a match box out of her pocket. Before she did anything with them, though, she socked the hydra in it's nasty head. She then cut of all the heads and lit the hydra's gooey necks on fire. Me and Grover stared in amazement. She saw us, and must have realized that we just saw everything.
She stifled a scream. Everyone looked at her, and then me and Grover. I didn't know what the mortals saw through the mist, but it wasn't in our favor. Everyone's eyes drifted down to the dead hydra. People started to frantically try to call 911, but they're fingers were trembling too much.
Potato pushed through the crowd and me and Grover tried to follow, everyone getting out of our way. But Potato was too fast.
I heard police sirens coming from down the street. I got ready for another incident with the law.
