Preface
The light burned. In a literal way. I don't know why and I don't know how but i changed.I felt like I was being ripped to pieces, but I wasn't.
I couldn't see, but I could feel. I was on a hard, cold metal table with straps on my arms and legs. My mind raced and I thought my heart would thump like crazy, but it didn't. There was no sound in my chest.
How did this happen to me. Only weeks ago, my version of dangerous was wearing an old plaid skirt to prom. My life was perfect. It started with him...
Chapter 1
"Malissa, you know we can't stay here. Why do you keep complaining?" Aunt Cari said.
"Because it's swimsuit season here and we're moving to fricking Alaska!" I growled. I had spent the last two weeks of school trying to persuade my Aunt Cari to let me stay here and live with my BF Kelila Bastien.
But my atemts failed so I was sticking to my Plan B. Make her life miserable. She had ruined my life, so I would ruin hers. She'd have to live with me for one more year.
Where are my mom and dad in this you ask? Well my parents died in a fire when I was three, though, I don't remember it. My Aunt Cari took me in, but she didn't really love me. I had a sister who I would rarely see. She would be in her room all day, reading. She wasn't my biological sister so she didn't look like me, but we had the same hair, black and wavy.
"Come on, at least let me stay for one more month." I said, shaking so hard that my sparkly, pink dress swayed.
"No Malissa, so stop badgering me. I made my desicion and it's final." She said with such athoraty that I knew the conversation was over.
