The girl bounded down the steps of the train station scanning the lot for her aunt Renee. She stood waiting, the thoughts of the past hour and a half on the train. She thought of how quickly the boy went from a stranger to someone she is ready to fall head over heels for. She thought of his beautifully dark eyes, his voluminous black curls and how sweetly he smiled at her. She thought about how soft, yet intimate, while also powerful their kiss was. And she couldn't wait to text him, call him and fall in love with him.
"Abby...Abby....ABIGAIL! Hi sweetie, you're seemingly distracted by your own mind get in, so you're not daydreaming in the cold."
"Thanks Aunt Renee, sorry about that, were you waiting long?"
"Only like a minute, you're good." She said with a sweet smile.
They sat in silence for the short ride to Renee's quaint home. They both grabbed some of the stuff from the trunk and walked inside, headed straight towards the guest bedroom. The girl began to unpack, unknowing of the phone call she was receiving.
"Hey Abby, who's Finn?"
"Fuck... Um, can I tell you about him later? And can I also have my phone?"
Renee handed the girl her phone which she swiftly answered.
"Hey Finny!"
"Hey Abby, this train is so boring without you."
"I would have figured as such." As a giggle passed her lips. "What stop did you just pass?"
"Well, I just passed Berwyn, so I still have like 45 minutes left, what are you doing?"
"I'm moving my stuff in, I'm gonna call a local community college to see when the earliest I can start is. I want to be a sophomore by the next fall semester but since its already spring semester, and I convinced my parents not to make me start this past fall, I'm gonna have to load up on classes to catch up on credits. "
"Are you sure that's what you want?"
"It's not just about what I want, it's also about what I need."
From the distance, Aunt Renee shouted to Abby that dinner was almost ready and how she had cued a horror movie for them to watch. The girl let out a saddened sigh, said goodbye to Finn, and hung up the phone. She walked down the hall, watching Renee round into the living room carrying two plates of food and setting them down on the coffee table. Abby crossed in to the room and glanced at the screen, the beginning of IT 2017. She giggled to herself softly, remembering how just a little big ago she found out that the boy had been in it. She became overwhelmed with excitement and curiosity to see the beautiful boy she was already falling for, just 5 years prior.
She sits down next to her Aunt and starts to dig into her food. Minutes pass by before she sees Finn, but boy did time do him well. She leans over to her aunt and whispers,"That's Finn." Renee's eyes go wide and she starts asking questions going a mile a minute. The girl laughs at some but answers them all and they continue to watch the movie. When they reach the end, Abby assumes that he is back in the city and has already explained everything to his brother, so she texts him.
"What are some of the funner ways to become a man?"
It takes him a few moments for a response but eventually he says,
"Holy shit! Did you watch it?"
"yes sir! The past 5 years have done you justice."
"I'm offended, are you saying I wasn't dashingly handsome this whole time?"
"Who said that? Let's just say you became extra dashing."
For months following this type of thing had occurred. They would text each other about everything and wished each other happy birthdays when they rolled around. It was safe to say that the boy and the girl had fallen head over heels in love with one another. New Years Eve had arrived, the day they were both so excited for. After nearly a year after meeting, after nearly a year of texts, calls, voice memos and facetimes they were seeing one another once again.
That morning, the girl was singing and dancing all over her house. The boy was all sorts of jittery as he boarded his flight. The girl had gotten a train up to Philly, spending the whole time reminiscing over the past year and when she had ridden the train with the boy.
She got to the hotel and got the room keys. She went up to the room and had texted him the address and room number, patiently waiting for his arrival. The hands of the clock felt like they were moving slowly. She was become more and more excited to see the boy she was hopelessly in love with.
Three taps were heard at the door, the girl popped right to her feet and ran to the door as quickly as her feet would take her. As soon as she saw the boy, she couldn't resist throwing her arms around him and hugging him as tightly as she good. He gripped her tight, unashamed of the few tears that glided gently down his cheeks. He gathered his things and joined her in the room. The smile that spread across her face was just as bright as it was contagious. She ran and hopped onto a bed and he followed suit, jumping right beside her. Giggles and laughter were erupting in the previous silence of the room. The two chatted about how their year had been. Finn talked about all of his time on set this past year and Abby talked about how she had crammed 10 classes worth of credits in the time normal students cram 5 classes worth. They became in tuned with each other's company, being filled with the thankfulness of being together.
As the laughter died down and they became comfortable in each other's presence, they rolled so they were looking into each other's eyes.
"This is crazy." The boy states blankly. "It's crazy that I don't have to keep imagining talking to you, looking at you, hugging you, I don't have to imagine you."
"I can't believe that this is happening. All of the times that I had been patiently waiting for a new text. Watching your old movies and TV shows just to see or hear you. All of those times that all I wanted was to go back to the station to give you one more kiss or to even be around you. And now it's actually here."
The boy's eyes fluttered around her face before landing on her lips. His hand reached over to gently brush her hair behind her eyes. He gently grabs her face and brings her in for a sweet kiss. It lasts a few moments before he whispers to her,
"Hey Abby?" She hums an 'mm hmm' in response before he says, "My dream came true."
Her eyes go wide and she starts to smile as wide as she ever has. She leans over and pecks his lips.
"I love you so damn much Finn Wolfhard."
"I love you so much more Abby Newman."
A/N SURPRISE!!! Here we gooooo on a new adventure following these two beautiful souls. This will be SLOWLY updated. My goal is once every 2 weeks, but i have no promises because my school takes precedence over this.
