{Niall's POV}

It was Friday, And with the workday over, I stalked off to the parking lot. As I walked out of the tall building I looked around, not another person in sight... I started off to my car reaching in my pocket to get my keys. But I noticed something. It fell from the sky like rain but... It was black. I grabbed a piece as it blew by. A large chunk of ash and debris. It was literally raining ash and debris.

"What the hell is going on?" I muttered to myself.

I looked around again, still I didn't see anything, well except for the huge dark grey smoke rising from the east. I was stunned, what was going on? I run to my car and immediately got in and turned it on. I was going to find out what the hell was going on. After driving for about 15 minutes, I saw it. A huge fire ball. Then it hit me... That was the laboratory that they do medical experiments in... Why was it ablaze? I jumped out of my car slamming the door and running into the crowd of on lookers. I turned to the nearest one, a young girl who looked around my age.

What happened?" I asked looking around as the firemen attempted to out the blaze.

"We're not supposed to talk about it. But what happened was someone broke a vial that contained a sample of a deadly, fast spreading, virus called Z2. The people in its general area were infected. The Z2 virus has a zombie like effect, that or it drives you to madness. That's when one of those effected by the virus blew up the building" she explained.

I gasped... It was shocking to hear that they weren't gonna tell anyone about the virus and the explosion, yet understandable. But how does it spread? I'm guessing by air, which means...! I grabbed the girl by the arm and dragged her away from the crowd.

"If the virus travels by air we're all screwed if we stay here. Come with me" I whispered.

She gasped and nodded in agreement. We ran to my car slamming the doors and I drove away as fast as I could.

"So what's your name?" She asked looking down at her feet.

"I'm Niall, and you?" I replied.

"I'm Jay" she said sheepishly.

"We'll Jay, I promise I won't hurt you, and I won't allow anyone else to hurt you. We'll survive this. We have each other" I said trying to get her to trust me.

"Let's just hope it doesn't become a massive outbreak" she mumbled.

I hoped the same... But we were so wrong... So wrong.
