Serena's POV

I'm in Seventh grade, life sucks. At least I have Kenya, Janaya, Adams and Ahniya. They make life easier, especially school. It's currently November third. A Sunday.

"Wake up" aunt Kennedy says. It's currently eight in the morning and my family I have to greet the new neighbors. "Ugh" I groan but still get up.

They are coming over for dinner and honestly I could care less about them coming over. My entire family is overly obsessive. They've been planning everything down to the table clothes since we got news of them moving into the building.

We are having dinner with the O'Connell family. At six so I have no idea why I have to wake up so early. Anyway, I take my shower and brush my teeth.

5 pm an hour before dinner

I have to get dressed 'decently' according toy mom.

So I wore this:

I feel so girly but mom insisted

I feel so girly but mom insisted. "Why do you have my earrings on?" Alex says. "Because mom gave them to me" She stared right at me and held out her hand. Me being the pussy I am I took the off and gave them to her.

My sister Alex is a damn bully who hits hard so I just basically do what I'm told.

6 pm

The table is set Kennedy's ready so is Alex and mom. Soon there's an knock at the door. I'm closest so I get it. When I open the door I see a woman with almost auburn hair and bright blue eyes, beside her a man with slightly less bright eyes; a mix of green and blue.

"Nice to meet you..." I say lifting my eyebrows silently asking for a name. "Maggie. Nice to meet you too" she says pulling me in for a hug. "This is Patrick, Finneas, and Billie." Maggie pulls two kids out from behind her and her husband. Her son having red hair and the same blue eyes. My eyes go over to her daughter. Her eyes being the most vibrant and beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen. Woah! She gives a half smile and I can tell she doesn't want to be here either.

Everyone is getting along and right now I'm sitting next to a bored Billie. Let's start a conversation. "So.. Billie how old are you?" "13" while looking down, was how she responded. "Me too" I awkwardly responded. That was it for dinner I just ate and listened to whatever conversations were going on around me.

After dinner:

"All of this was amazing!" Finneas thanked my mom and aunt. Considering the family are vegan the food was actually good.

8 pm

The O'Connell's have left and I'm in my room changing into my PJs. Dinner was ok considering how it could've been. It's only eight pm and I have nothing to do but stay up and watch TV.

I end up going onto my fire escape to just sit and relax. I brought my book with me. I write music, poems, or just how I feel in that book. It helps me relax. I jumped when I heard a voice say "What you writing?" I look over to the stairs to see Billie. " Poem." "Can I see?" "It's boring you probably won't like it-" I was cut off by her saying "No kind of art is boring." I handed her the book. She look so focused on my words and I was kind of nervous for what she thought about it. "This is really good!" I smiled. "I have to get back to bed before anyone notices I'm gone." I laughed Then I realized I've been outside for like two hours. " Me too night". "Good night" I went back to bed and shut off the light. Then close my eyes letting sleep take over.
