After spending some time together at the festival, Shin lead you to his house. Certainly your parents wouldn't mind if you stayed overnight with your love.
Walking through the house, up the stairs, and to his room - it was a nostalgia trip. Memories flooded back to you. You remembered learning to bake together... drinking tea on the couch... reading books... snuggling on the bed mid-day just because you could...
And now it was the first night to spend on his bed since summer vacation last year, too.
You shut the door behind you and took his room in. It felt homely, more than your parent's city house in Osaka ever was. Here, you were openly and truly loved. Here, all your problems were able to be set aside. No more stress, no more worries. No more guilt and shame. Shin...
He slid off his kimono, revealing his slim, refined form and silk-furred body. Soon afterwards he slid on a fluffy white pair of pajamas... to which only then he looked back at you. You were still in a kimono...
"...I assume you don't have anything to change into?" Shin questioned.
To anybody else, he would've asked that snarkily. But not to you... his voice was laced with gentleness and understanding.
"Yeah..." You let out a sigh, but Shin gingerly stepped forward and put a finger on your lips.
"Shhhh~... boxers are fine, Terra." He softly whispered. You complied.
Within minutes you'd slid out of the kimono and slid into bed with Shin. Under heavenly soft and thick blankets, and facing eachother. His yellow eyes - those precious gems - put you at ease, even in the dimness of the night. A faint, tired smile drew across his lips, and likewise on yours.
You began to ever-so-softly stroke the feline's cheek.
"...Y'know, Shin... I think I'm gonna leave Osaka... now."
"W-Whoa, what?!" Shin's eyes flared up.
"Terra... that's brash! What about your parents? School?" Shin spoke quietly still, but with a sharp anxiety.
"...I'll send a letter to tell them my choice. It's not like I need them... and not like they really want me..." You let out a sigh.
With the alibi given, Shin was much more comfortable with the idea. He placed his own hand upon your cheek, his gems flickering with empathy.
"Terra... I'm sorry your parent's haven't been good to you. I know how it feels... mine... they never even come by to see me" The feline sighed and let go of your cheek, only to nuzzle his head against your chest abruptly.
He let out a few shaky breaths and began squeezing you tight. You pet his head to soothe him, and timely, he spoke the thoughts running in his head.
"...other than Amaki-san..... Terra... you're the only true 'family' I have." His voice drowned in emotion.
"Then... instead of my grandparent's... how about I move into your place instead...?"
Those words instantly lit up Shin's heart in joy. He let go for a moment, sitting up slightly in bed. His face displayed the purest feeling of excitement, which wasn't to say it was hyper - just the happiest face the feline had ever made.
"R-Really?! Terra- I- I'd love that!" His voice toyed with sheer disbelief. He took a few moments to settle down and grasp that it was reality, and he slinked back close to you.
"...maybe we can make a café together, too..." Shin whispered as he snuggled against your chest, holding you close.
The idea sounded perfect. You held him tightly in return, both your bodies pressed together under the intimate embrace. Mutually and silently began the drift into sleep.
Today wasn't just a visit... it was a homecoming. As you fell into sleep, you were oozing with the most comfort and peace you've ever felt.
