The sun smiles brightly, welcoming everyone to a new day. Villagers take part in their daily tasks; everyone working with bright smiles. The youngest wander around, running and playing with their friends, enjoying the world through their innocence. The birds sing for everyone to hear, inviting their kind to dance with the wind.
Amber Cohen—the brightest star of the village—gets ready for a new experience she knows will come. How does she know that? She just feels it in her heart.
She grabs herself an apple from the basket resting in the middle of the wooden dining table. Without hesitation, she bites down to be met with the familiar taste of the juicy fruit. Her locks of hair fall into waves of brown flowing and bouncing as she runs around with euphoria pumping through her body.
She throws her bag over her shoulder once making sure she has everything she needs. The leaf design of the bag made her feel like a young adventurer going on a fun mission.
She bounces off the stairs, skipping a few steps along the way. Amber's hand barely touches the handle when she hears a weak voice call out to her. She immediately turns around and rushes to the room where she knows the voice came from. Worry slowly rises in her, her mind making up the worsts scenarios in the short amount of time that it took her to get to the room where her only remaining family member lays.
"You called me, grandma?" Amber asks the aged woman laying on the bed. Miss Grandma smiles warmly, her eyes forming into crescent moons shining in the darkest of nights.
White locks of wisdom blend in to her mostly faded brown hair, skin wrinkled with memories and experiences. Despite being the eldest of the village, she still smiles like a mother would upon seeing her newborn laying soundly against her chest for the first time.
"Yes, my dear," Her voice is hoarsed yet comforting to hear, "I want you to bring me some blueberries, if if you don't mind. I would like to make you and your friends a blueberry cake when you get back from your little trip."
"Of course, but aren't you still too weak to get up?" Amber asks with concerned and unsureness.
"You'd be surprised as to what these old bones can still do," Miss Grandma chuckles lightly.
"Alright. Rest well, I'll call Diana to take care of you," Amber hugs her grandmother, her fingers running through her mostly snow-colored hair.
Miss Grandma nods, smiling when she notices the green leaf bag she had given her granddaughter. "You really like that thing, don't you?" She comments.
"Yep, the most special person in the world gave it to me," Amber replies with the same smile that's on Miss Grandma's face.

Amber bounces around the village, waving at the familiar faces and making conversation with the roaming animals. While she was walking, she spots a white bunny hoping around the crops. She opens the gate and steps inside the small enclosed area to prevent the bunny from ruining the crops.
"Well hello there, Mr. Bunny," she giggles, crouching down in front of the white bunny.
"I'm telling ya, one of these days she's going to break out into a song and the rest of the day will be a musical," Zayne laughs, his head resting on his palm. Daniel and Ash nod with small chuckles, the three guys resting their upper bodies on the fence. The three have been watching Amber since she stepped out of her house.
"Oh shut up," Amber rolls her eyes at Zayne's comment, her lips falling into a small frown when the bunny hops away.
The guys walk into the small enclosed farm to properly greet Amber. They engulf her into a group hug, momentarily suffocating her in their loving—and tight—embrace. Her face is pale as she tries to catch her breath, which Ash finds humorous.
"You look like a fish out of water," He says through laughter.
"Thanks, lord of darkness," She glares at the black-haired male. Ash mirrors her glare before Daniel's arms come between them.
"It hasn't been five minutes and you two are already at each other's throats," Zayne sighs, looking at them as if they were two kids fighting over a piece of candy.
Daniel decides to clear the air by reminding the group of their task for the day. "The guards said that there might be something roaming around the gates of the village. Maybe a wolf or another forest animal."
Amber's eyes light up upon hearing that, "If it's an animal, can we keep it?!"
"Sure if you want a grown wolf to cuddle with," Ash replies.
Three glares get sent Ash's way. "You're the worst," Amber complained.
"But you love me~" Ash says in a sing-song tone and rests his chin on his hands, tilting his head to the side for an extra effect.
"No."
"Let's just go," Zayne steps in with yet another sigh.

The group of 4 walk around the forest, their senses working to keep them completely alert. Halfway through their walk, Daniel got bored and decided to take out his boredom on Amber.
He sneaked up behind her as quietly as possible. Zayne and Ash saw him, but decided to pretend they didn't, wanting to see what would happen. Daniel yelled in Amber's ear and poked her sides, a startled squeal coming from her right after.
Amber jumps around, a fiery glare pointed right at Daniel. Daniel's eyes widened and regret is clear on his face. He starts sprinting and crying out apologies, Amber following close behind while barking death threats.
"She's going to kill him," Zayne states, no doubt in his voice.
"One less dumbass to look after," Ash shrugs.
Amber keeps chasing after Daniel, smirking when he runs into a clear area. She jumps over the bushes surrounding the clearing and prepares to attack Daniel.
"Now you're fu-" She cuts herself off when she sees that Daniel is nowhere on sight. That can't be possible though! She was right behind him the whole time! How could he have just vanished the second he jumped over the bushes?
"Daniel," Amber calls out, "Come out now and maybe I'll spare you."
She waits quietly to see if she could hear any movements; he couldn't have gone far. But there was nothing, no sign of him. The only sound was of her ragged breathing from the chase.
"Daniel?"
Maybe he's back with the other two seeking some help to prevent getting his ass handed to him. With that thought, Amber turns around to go back to the guys.
But she freezes in place at what she sees.
A tall—inhumanly tall—creature stands a few feet in front of her. It's skin is so white he could probably blend into snow, it's freakishly slender figure casting a long shadow over Amber. It dresses in a suit and tie that's perfectly ironed with no wrinkles flawing it's formal presentation. What set her off the most? The lack of features on his face; the creature was faceless.
Strangely enough, Amber felt weirdly at ease despite it's frighting visuals. She knows she should be running and crying desperately for help, but instead she steps closer to the creature. The intial shock stays behind while curiosity takes her by the hand and walks with her closer and closer to inspect the strange being.
Amber stretches out her hand and the creature tilts his head down as if he was looking at her hand. It seemed as if he was curious as well.
She had stopped referring to the creature as 'it' once feeling the fatherly aura around him.
He brings up his hand and Amber sees how boney his fingers are. He glances at his hand before putting it against Amber's, the size different would be humorous to her if she wasn't so fascinated.
Amber smiles softly at the sight of their hands being pressed against each other. She looks up at him with the smile still present on her face.
And when she looks up at him, her world goes black.
