i'm Carter Gray , 

and this is my story 

let me take you back to how it all started

it all started with a normal day .. i was 18 at the time , i woke up at 6 a.m prepared to go to the university i applied to . start the first day .

my mother's cooking breakfast in the kitchen , my 11 year old sister with her dirty blonde pigtails running through the halls of our house , running past by me , knocking the new uni books out of my hands 

"ETHEL!!" i yelled at her , she just glanced at me with that cute brown doe eyes and smiled at me  and i rolled my eyes back at her, as i was gathering back the books back in my grasp , i feel lightheaded . 

i've been feeling this for quiet sometime . i feel weird , i have talked to my mum about this , i sometimes can hear slightly of people thoughts , when this happens my mum brought me to a therapist , they provided me some drugs to restrain these voices , i googled this symptoms all leads to schizophrenia.

but , the weird thing is .. when i keep finishing people sentences before they say it , now  i know i'm not a nut head . i don't make this voices up , i can hear it because it's what they're thinking . and sometimes when i want them to do something so much , i can make them do what i want , until i snap out of it and just take it as a coincidence .

"mum , where's dad?" i ask my mum as she laid some oatmeal in front of me telling me to eat before going

"he's on the back hun , fixing your car .. look at you , all grown up , i'm gonna miss you too much when you're away" my mum said as she kissed my head and i smiled at her , i'm gonna miss this 

"i'll come home on holidays mum , how can i be away too long from this little bunny anyway" i said as i grabbed my sister from behind and twirl her around  

"i'm gonna miss you Ethel" i said to her as i got to my knees so we're on the same heights , and Ethel hugged me back in return .

then my dad came to the kitchen all dirty with oil stained cloth on his shoulder as he smiled at me 

"well Ethel , seems like you're gonna be an only child for a while" he laughs 

"come on Carter " my father motioned me to come with him to the garage 

"Carter ..i want you to take this with you .." he said to me handing me a handgun

"dad?!!! are you crazy? .. no way!" i said in disbelief , any normal parents would give their daughter a long pep talk before uni , not a gun 

"hey hey .. it's just a pre caution okay , you don't use it unless it is absolutely necessary , you're special Carter .. your mother wouldn't tell you this , but , i need you to be able to protect yourself" he told me , and i just nodded and feeling unsure

after that he taught me how to shoot , by pulling the trigger slowly , and eyeing the target , and BANG!

not long after mum barged through the door 

"JIM?! what do you think you're doing ?! don't teach her how to use that thing !" my mum yelled at my father

"she needs to know Ange , we won't be able to protect her in uni" he explained to her , i honestly don't understand a thing,  like why do i need protecting?

"nothing's gonna happen to her , Carter you are not taking that gun with you" my mum said snatching the gun out of my hand and throwing it on the floor

"okay" i just said so that everything's okay before i leave 

i hugged my parent one more time as they wished me the best for  my first uni years and hoping me to come home some time , my little sister refusing to let go of my waist , me and Ethel are the closest ,i'm gonna miss her and everyone .

Before i got in the car , my neighbour from across the street AKA my bestfriend Nick ran towards me , we basically grew up together ever since i can remember , he's also close to my family and mostly Ethel , which warms me to know that he'll there for her when i'm not for awhile .. He's like a big brother to Ethel .

"Hey nerd" He said as he smirks at me

"Hi Nick" I smiled at him

"Told ya i'm not gonna be late" He spoke in a very humorly manner

"Stay back one more minute , i could already be on the way" I smiled to him

"I wouldn't miss you taking off to uni for the world you know that .. Hey , take care alright .. We'll miss you nerd" He said as he come closer to hug me 

He pulled me towards his strong chest and i can inhale his scent , that comforting one .. That reminds me of home and my family

"I'll miss you more" I said to him as i slowly let go of my grip to his back , and smile softly staring to his eyes ..
We used to be so close we're bestfriends .. Until i had a boyfriend Matt , he's the jock of school , loved him and Nick just doesn't like him from the start , and we drifted further .. But Nick isn't wrong .. I mean Matt ended up cheating on me .

as i got in the car and putting my luggage in the trunk and drive off as they waved their goodbyes .
