If You Can't Be Good, Be Careful

Kaminari was pretty sure he didn't learn a single thing in class the next day.

Which wasn't a highly unusual occurrence but today his mind was well and truely not on the task at hand.

It was, more specifically, on someone else's hand and how he had stood on still shaky legs an hour later to say goodnight to him.

He'd fallen asleep almost immediately after Shinsou left and dreamt of all the things that could be in store for them next.

One look at himself in the mirror in the morning had him scampering up the stairs to Mina's room, his previous bravado about letting Aizawa see his neck long gone in the light of day.

What the heck was he thinking last night? He couldn't let Aizawa see him like this!

He knocked on her door in a panic still half buttoning his school shirt.

Mina opened her door with a yawn, rubbing at her eyes. She blinked a little more awake when she saw who it was. "Kami?"

"I need help!"

She shuffled aside and swung the door wide to let him in. "This early on a Monday morning?"

Instead of making himself at home on her bed like he usually did, he paced across her floor and she could tell something was up.

He folded the collar of his uniform down over his tie and she spotted the reason for his distress and couldn't help a giggle.

"I need your help to cover it."

"Why? Everyone knows about you guys anyway, what's the big deal?"

"The big deal is that I can't let Aizawa see."

Mina cocked an adorable eyebrow at him. "Oh calm down, babe, he's seen them before. Remember the time Blasty came into class with very suspicious teeth marks in his shoulder?"

Kaminari did smile at the memory of Aizawa's long suffering sigh but frowned again at his own situation. "Yeah, I do but I bet he's never seen one on his son's boyfriend."

It took Mina a few silence-filled seconds to piece his words together but when she did, her eyes got impossibly rounder and she burst out laughing.

"Oh my god! This is hilarious! You're, you're," she fell back on the bed giggling her head off, "you're dating the teacher's son!"

Of course she didn't care that Aizawa was Shinsou's dad, she only cared about how much entertainment she would get from this whole situation.

He frowned at her and flopped onto her desk chair with a groan.

When she had finally finished laughing at him, she rifled through her makeup bag. "So things are going well then?" she asked with a small grin.

Kaminari hid his face in his hands and nodded. He knew an interrogation was on its way but when all he could hear was her digging around in her makeup bag, he looked up at her.

She only gave him a reassuring smile. "Good, I'm so happy for you, babe."

She pulled out her concealer and frowned. "I don't think pink is really your colour. Come with me." And with that, she dragged him three dorms down the hall to someone who might be able to help.

At lunch, Shinsou dropped into the seat next to him, greeting him with a light kiss on his temple.

At some stage, some of Uraraka's excellent cover job must have rubbed off because Sero asked across the table, "Dude, what's up with your neck?" But he didn't give Kaminari time to answer before laughing out, "Is that what I think it is!?"

Kaminari's face reddened and Shinsou went about eating his lunch with a sly smirk.

Mina, bless her heart, kept her mouth shut while the rest of the group snickered at his discomfort.

Kirishima laughed boisterously. "Not the neck, bro! Everyone sees the neck. You're lucky your hero costume covers up so much skin, plenty of places to use instead."

Shinsou sounded like he choked on his noodles and Kaminari shook his head at his bro's seriousness. He actually thought he was being helpful and not making him want to slink under the table to hide.

When Shinsou went home for dinner that evening, he was met with a firm stare from his Dad as he dropped his bag on the couch.

"Are you about to give me a teacher talk or a dad talk?"

Aizawa crossed his arms. "Kaminari had a rather interesting looking bruise on his neck today."

Shinsou swallowed, a dad talk then.

"Mmm?" he responded, feigning mild indifference.

Aizawa blinked heavily before continuing. "Would you happen to know anything about that, Hitoshi?"

Shinsou met his gaze. "I might."

Aizawa released a long suffering sigh. He knew this day would come but he'd rather hoped it would be further in the future. And that his husband would be the one to do it.

Shinsou started before his dad could get a word in. "We don't have to have this conversation."

"Good because I don't want to have it either," Aizawa said and went to turn away.

His Papa chose that moment to saunter out of the hallway excitedly asking, "Ooh what conversation?"

"Our son left a rather prominent bruise on the neck of one of my students and I was about to lecture him about dorm etiquette but it seems he has the situation under control."

Mic looked at him with a curious frown. "I never pegged you for a fighter. You know there's no rough housing in the dorms. Is someone picking on you?"

Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose. "Not that kind of bruise."

Mic's brow dipped low over his eyes for a second before shooting back up and he barked out a laugh. "Would that student happen to be Kaminari?"

Shinsou gave him a look that said, who else would it be?

Mic clapped his hands together. "Ahh, young love."

"Dorm etiquette, Yamada."

Mic cleared his throat and put on his best dad voice. "Yes well, be good and if you can't be good, be careful." Aizawa interrupted with a disgruntled noise.

Mic cupped his hand over his mouth and whispered far too loudly, "And if you can't be careful, don't get caught."
