Shay's POV
I was suddenly being shook. When I opened my eyes I saw Sami with a bewildered look in her eyes.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Jessica just went into labor, and is on her way to the hospital." I then sat up, and jumped to my feet.
"What are we waiting for!? Let's go!" I then grabbed my phone, my shoes, and my keys before sprinting out the door with Sami not far behind. I then started the engine, and we took off to the hospital. It was a 15 minute drive from my house, so as soon as I parked my car I dashed from the parking lot into the hospital. I then dashed to the front desk. "Jessica....Owens?" I asked while trying to catch my breath.
"Room 215." The nurse said with a smile.
"Thank you." I said, and took off down the hallway. I was going to go in, and see her but was told to stay in the waiting room until further instruction. I then sighed to myself, and sat in the hospital waiting room. Sami and I sat there for 7 hours without hearing anything from the doctors. "I hope nothing's wrong." I said with a worried sigh.
"I wish I could say the same, but I have a bad feeling Shay." Sami admitted. Over the years I've learned to trust Sami's gut feeling, because it's almost always right. There was only one time her gut feeling was wrong, and that was about Jessica. She and Jessica never really got along, and Sami had a gut feeling that Jessica was a bad person. This was when we thought Jessica had slept with Hyukjae just to hurt me. Thankfully that proved to be false. Sadly I'm not so sure she's wrong this time. I then felt a tap on my shoulder, and I looked up to see a female in a white trench coat.
"I'm Jennie Kim. Are you here for Ms. Owens?" She asked, and I shook my head quickly. "We've had some complications." She admitted.
"Is it the baby?" I asked with a panic in my voice. I felt my anxiety rise quickly.
"No. The baby is healthy. It's Ms. Owens we are concerned with." She admitted, and my chest began to grow tight.
"What's wrong with her?"
"Ms. Owens has lost a lot of blood, and is in need of a blood donor."
"What happens if she doesn't get the donor?" Sami asked.
"Then her heart will give out." Doctor Kim said with a deep sigh. "That's why we need a donor ASAP."
"What's her blood type?" I asked quickly.
"It's O negative, which we don't have any in the hospital at the moment." Doctor Kim said with a frown.
"I'll give her some of my blood. I'm blood type O negative." She then raised an eyebrow.
"Ms. Kim, are you sure about this?" She asked carefully.
"I'm sure. I'll do whatever it takes. She's given me a daughter, so the least I can do is give her some of my blood."
"Ms. Owens is lucky to have a friend like you. We'll get things set, and we'll see you in about 15 minutes." She said with a smile.
"Ok."
"You're making a noble sacrifice, Ms. Kim." She said proudly. I then smiled.
"Like I said, it's the least I can do for her after what she's given me."
