Chapter 1

THE CALL

EMILY'S POV:

I pushed my long, tanned legs to swing higher than the blonde next to me.

"hahahahahah I'm winning Em!" My best friend Hanna laughed.

"You  wish, Hanna Banana!" I smirked at her nickname. We both swung as high as we could until the swings started creaking. Yeah, yeah I know teenage girls aren't supposed to do childish things like that, but we don't really care!

We were still mucking about when suddenly my phone started ringing. I looked down at the screen to see the caller.

"Hi mommy what's up?" I spoke while Hanna made fun of my sweet tone. I gave her a death stare as she started mimicking me.

"E-Em, Emmy plea- please come home..." a voice sobbed from the other end of my latest phone.

"Mom? What's wrong talk to me! Why are you crying?!? Did anything happen?" Panic and worry filled my voice. My mum never cries, NEVER. So whatever happened must have been terrible.

"Just come home Emily!" she sobbed out. I replied that I would hurry. My face must have been scrunched because the next thing that happened was that Hanna asked me if I was okay and she never does that.... probably cause she is always ranting about herself.

"I'm fine, Han, but my mum isn't. I gotta go, I'm sorry." I said to her before rushing into to my black, sleek sports car. My hands gripped the steering wheel so tight my knuckles started turning white. Zooming past all the traffic signals I reached my house "The Fields Manor." Stumbling through the door I approached my mother who was curled up on the couch tears pouring down her face and her phone clutched in her hand. I  rushed over to her and hugged her for a while. As soon as my arms wrapped around her she relaxed.

"Em... Dad-" she started, but I cut her off by shouting.

"Dad? What happened to him?!?" I shrieked hysterically. I loved my dad, he was my hero! He worked for a spy agency called the Red Dawn and he embarks on secret missions to save the world!

"He... he-" she stuttered unable to choke out her words through sobs. She started again but was cut off by my phone going off. I glanced at the screen: No Caller I.D. This could be from dad's work! Desperately, I answered and quickly introduced myself.

"Hello, Emily Fields here."

"Hey, Em... it's about your dad. The Green Skulls have him, we need you Emily nobody else will take it... they know the risks. It's your choice Emily you can become an agent and rescue your father." I recognised the voice: Lance, one of my dad's partners. I sighed wearily this was a lot to take in but I would do anything for my dad as he would do for me. I understood why none of the other agents took on the mission. Our rivals the Green Skulls were really fearsome! Trying to wrap my head around things I walked out of the room and replied to Lance.

"Does my mum know?" my voice came out as low and husky.

"Yes, but she doesn't want to lose you too..."

"She won't, I'm in" I replied with confidence that seemed to come from nowhere, the truth was that I was worried. What if I wasn't good enough?

Yes, I know this book is horrible. Don't blame me, I'm still a child okay? If you want to edit this and make it better go ahead... but give credit! Yes, I also know it is very short. I liked the cliffhanger so that's why. Anyways, goodbye and have a nice day/night
