Papyrus stood with his back against a tree as he watched it happen. As he watched the human he wanted to befriend kill his brother.

NO! Papyrus thought fiercely, clenching his hands into fists. Why? Why is the human doing this?

He ran over to the scene with a cry, hoping he could convince the human to not kill his brother. He wasn't sure if he could bring himself to hurt them, but he wondered if he could talk them out of it. But it was too late. By the time he got there Sans was nothing more than a pile of dust on the ground. The human stood with a knife in hand, grinning at the dust before kicking it viciously.

"No!" Papyrus screeched, tears welling up in his eyes. They streamed down his face as he fell to his knees, sobbing. "N-no..."

The human laughed at Papyrus before walking away. He was too busy crying to do anything. He just wanted his brother back. He stared down at the dust and loudly wailed, grief searing his soul like fire.

Why? Why would the human do this? Papyrus wondered. Are they hurt inside? Are they lonely? Do they not eat well? What is wrong with them? Papyrus didn't think he knew the answer. He just stood up and brushed himself off. I'll do my best to stop them from hurting others. I'll do it for my brother. Surely they'll stop if I just talk...
