Before I could say anything, he had collected all my papers and we were back standing up, he pushed his dripping wet hair out of his face and flashed one crooked smile at me before tunring to Berni.
"Excuse me sir, but do you perhaps have a kitchen I could quickly hide in?" He asked, shivering slightly from his drenched clothing. I stood staring blankly at all three people in the room.
"Um, Pippa please show him to the kitchen, love.." Berni said quickly, Pip blushed deeply and did what she was told and showed the guy to the kitchen. He thanked Berni and followed her and I moved across the room to where he was standing.
"Berni, did what I think happen just happen?" I whisper to him, glancing out the window at a group of girls that had suddenly appeared and that were pressed up against the glass looking inside, all sopping wet from the rain.
"If by that you mean Harry Styles is hiding in my kitchen, then yes." He said letting out a small confused laugh. I breathed in deeply, trying to slow my heart down. The memories of 3 years ago crashed down on me. The fan girling, my old twitter account, all the posters stuffed in a cardboard box up in the attic, my obessesion with 5 teenage boys that never knew I exsisted. Of course I was 19 now and had grown out of that stage when I finished school. One Direction were still together, still going strong from what I'd see on TV and all around the city, I still smiled when I heard one of their songs but my fan girl days were long over. Harry was the same age as me, I always thought that was pretty cool, and now he was in the same Coffee Shop as me and I had no idea what to do.
The door pushed open and 3 men with camera's came into the store, you could see they were tired and looked like they had been running as they were out of breath.
"Someone said they saw Harry Styles come in here! Have you seen him? We lost him 2 streets down!" the one panted. I glanced at Berni and Pip, trying to act normal and tried to hide my smile.
"Nope sorry, it's just been us 3 in here for the past hour, no ones come in or out. Sorry mate!" Berni said shrugging and sitting down again, and cleaning his glasses. I shook my head at the men and their faces fell.
"All right then, thanks!" The second one sighed and then left the shop back into the rain and carried on walking. We stood in silence for a few seconds waiting to see if they would come back before Pippa let out a loud, nervous laugh. I joined her and fell back into the other leather couch opposite Berni.
"What just happened! That was crazy, did you see all those girls out there! My god." I said giggling. The door to the kitchen opened slightly and Harry peered out.
"Are they gone..?" he asked looking worried. We all laughed and Pippa nodded. Harry crept out, still shivering and I grabbed a dish cloth of the counter and handed it too him. He smiled at me again and my heart leapt, I found myself blushing deeply as I remember how he had always been my favorite.
"Thank you guys so much, they caught me a few streets back and I was just on the way to get my mum a gift for her birthday and I was mobbed again. The fans are getting crazy, I panicked and saw your shop was open, sorry about that!" He said while rubbing his wet hair dry with the small towel. He shook it out and swept it too the side like he always used to do and sat down on one of the stools.
"Its not a problem, it's only a pleasure to help you out Harry! I'm Berni, the owner." Berni said, smiling and sticking out his hand. Harry leant over and shook it.
"Would you like some coffee or something ta warm up Harry?" Pippa asked him shyly. He smiled and said yes and she hurried into the back again to make a cup for him. I moved across the room back to my computer and started to gather all my things. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Harry watching me as Berni made small talk with him. Pippa returned and placed the cup infront of him and he thanked her quietly. I glanced at the clock on the wall at the time read 6.05, which meant I needed to get going and go pick up a few things at the store to make it home on time. A part of me didn't want to leave seeing as though Harry Styles was in the same room and me and breathing the same air as me but I needed to get home before my mother threw a fit.
"Ok, I'm off then Berni! I'll probably come by again tomorrow after work again." I announced while slinging my bag back over my shoulder.
"Alright, cheers Ivy! Enjoy your night!" Berni said smiling warmly and giving me a small nod, Pippa waved goodbye from behind the counter.
"Bye Ivy, oh and I'm sorry about blowing all your stuff around the room again.." Harry said, staring intently at me. I shifted uncomfortably under his heavy gaze and moved to get my coat and umbrella.
"S'alright, no worries. Hope the paparazi don't catch you again. See ya later." I said while nervously shooting him, what a hope was an attractive smile. I waved one last time and pushed open the door and put up my umbrella before stepping out into the rain. Through the window, Harry watched me walk past and he smiled and waved again. As soon as I was around the bend I let out a small squeal and laughed. I'd just met Harry Styles.
