1st September 1961

~James~

James Potter woke up with a start. He scratched his head and jumped up when he heard his mother calling him.
"James Potter! Get down here this instant! You're going to be late!"
James's eyes opened in shock and excitement. Hogwarts! It was the day! The first of September!
James jumped out of bed, got dressed and ran downstairs to his mother who was smiling up at him.

...............

"Now be a good boy James..."
James Potter stood in front of a magnificent scarlet train-the Hogwarts Express. He had longed to ride on it and now here he was, all ready to go. His mother was anxious, knowing that her son was mischievous but Mr. Potter comforted her.

"Now go on and get yourself in Gryffindor!" He said, smiling as Mrs. Potter kissed her son on the forehead.
"Bye Mum! Bye Dad!" James shouted as he climbed the Hogwarts Express.

~Sirius~

"Hurry up boy! You're going to make us all be late! If you had been any less obedient, I would'nt have come to get you on the train!" Came Mrs. Black's shout as she stood next to the door.
"Coming mum." Sirius Black answered as he ran to her. The young boy's face was pale and dull. No wonder it was if you were different from the rest of your family, especially if your family was the Black family.

...................

Sirius climbed the Hogwarts Express, not looking back. He knew that as soon as he had crossed the platform nine and three quarters, his mother had gone, back to Number 12 Grimmauld place to his brother and father, who hadn't bothered to come.

Sirius was glad to be rid of his family. This year was going to be fun and he definitely did'nt want to get into Slytherin-the Black family's tradition. He was going to be the first one to break that and be proud.

~Remus~

"Mum....I don't know....about this.."
"It will be alright, Remus darling. Professor Dumbledore would'nt have said otherwise."

Remus Lupin was sitting in his mother's lap, a pale and worried look on his face where a fresh cut was scratched. He was worried, not of school but of the problems he would have to face-alone this time. He would have the Whomping Willow's protection but there would be no one to help him this time.

"You're going to be okay, Remus..." His mother said, bringing him closer.

...............

Remus hugged his mother and father in turn, and then looked up to them, smiling.

"You'll be a good boy, wont you, Remus?" Hope Lupin, his mother asked him.

"Of course he will, Hope dear, he's an intelligent boy...." Lyall Lupin added.
"Bye Mum, Dad...see you at Christmas..."

"Bye dear"

Remus Lupin dragged his trunk up to the train, which he climbed and waved one last time to his parents, wondering what would happen at Hogwarts that year.

~Lily~

"Bye mum! Bye dad!" Lily Evan hugged her parents who smiled proudly at her. Lily turned to Petunia Evans, her sister "Bye Tuney....I'll see you at Christmas..." Lily started but she got hurt when her sister and best friend turned her face away.

Lily knew that Petunia was jealous. She also wanted to go to Hogwarts though she did'nt show it, but she wasnt a witch-and couldn't come.

Lily was upset, but that wasnt going to ruin her first day. Her spirits lifted as she saw a familiar greasy head in the crowd.

"Hey Sev!" She called to Severus Snape who stood with his very strict looking mother. Lily waved one last goodbye to her family and got ready to go through the platform with Severus.

~Severus~

"Now you behave yourself and stay away from trouble! You understand that?" Eileen Prince was speaking to her son, who obediently replied "yes mum."

The greasy-haired skinny figure was standing next to his mother at King's Cross Station. He wasnt sure whether he was happy or not to be going to Hogwarts but some things cheered him up a bit.

He was going to be with Lily Evans, his best and only friend and was going to get away from his home at last.

He suddenly saw a red-headed figure heading towards him. Realising that it was Lily, he ran forward, much to his mother's relief who quietly went away.
"Hi Lily! Nice to see you. Now, shall we?" He asked, indicating to the platform.

Severus took one of Lily's hands in one of his and the other on his trolley. "Now, on the count of three. One....

......Two......

......Three!"

The two ran towards the platform and appeared at the other side. Severus smiled to see Lily's reaction: A gasp, a small squeal and her eyes opened at the amazement of such a thing.

Severus indicated her to follow him which she did, and they both headed towards the scarlet train. He helped pull her trunk up on the train and heaved his in afterwards. Then they began searching for an empty compartment to sit in and talk of what Hogwarts had in store for them.

~Tonks~

Nymphadora Tonks stood with her father and mother, taking in the excitement from student all around.

"Be a good girl Nymphadora-" started Andromeda Tonks when she was interrupted by her daughter "don't call me Nymphadora mum!" She cried, her hair changing to scarlet, matching the train in the background. "I don't like it....."

"Well, I think its a perfectly decent name...uh...okay fine. Now back to the point. Have fun at Hogwarts alright? But none of your silly stuff."

Tonks smiled at her mother, knowing that she knew that that wasnt going to happen.

Tonks had been and was really excited to be going to Hogwarts. She had always dreamed of going there-meeting friends, exploring the castle....and many other things. She would'nt even exchange places with the Minister of Magic for this.

"Alright now Dora. Have a good time. And study too" Edward Tonks smirked his amusing smirk at his daughter to which she replied by hugging him.

"Bye mum, dad!" Tonks said, waving to them and getting on the train, her head getting redder, redder and more spiky than ever, much to the other students' surprise and Nymphadora Tonks' amusement as she moved along.
