"What are we gonna do with him...? I mean, I'm pretty sure he's like a policeman or something." The spirit asked him.
"I'm actually a private investigator." Logan muttered in a volume that wasn't able to be heard.
"He's right," Roman chimed in, standing on Patton's free side. "If he doesn't leave on his own, we'll have to do something with him!"
It was silent for a few moments, the three "monsters" staring at Logan, trying to decide his fate. It was like this until they heard a voice from on top of the fridge.
"Can you guys....just.....go......please....it's too loud and you guys better decide slowly before I decide for him." He said. Logan looked up, and it was the same boy with the snake scales.
"Oh shut it, De. We all know you won't actually do anything. You'll just sit up there and lie like the "terrifying villain" you are." Roman spoke up, a bit annoyed.
And with that, the person known as 'De' was silent. And the silence in the room returned.
"So," Virgil spoke up, "what's your choice?"
"Well..." Logan started, fidgeting with his coat sleeves a bit. "Usually, people at the crime scene would have to answer some questions about what had happened down at the station. However, since you guys are...." Logan paused, not knowing how to explain.
"Not entirely human?" De chimed in from the fridge. Logan nodded at him, then looked back at the three infront of him.
"Exactly. Plus, one of you is the person it's about." Logan continued, before Virgil let out a sigh.
"Let me guess....it's about what happened to me, isn't it?" Virgil said, with a slight tint of sadness in it. Logan, not knowing if it were to be an uncomfortable subject, said nothing in response, shifting a bit at his feet. Virgil took it as a yes, and looked slightly uncomfortable, fidgeting with his hoodie strings.
With uncomfortable beats of silence, Logan changed the subject. "Anyways, I really should be getting back to the station I think they might start to worry if I'm not back soon."
Patton smiled and waved at Logan as he left the kitchen. "Goodbye! You can always come back whenever you want!"
Logan nodded in acknowledgment to Patton, and was almost to the door when Virgil suddenly appeared before him.
"I'm gonna take a stab at this that you all are trying to figure out what happened to me." Virgil said, avoiding eye contact with him. Logan nodded in response, and Virgil sighed. "Well....it was suicide. There, now you can go on your way."
Logan was about to thank the spirit, but then he suddenly disappeared. Logan opened the creaky door, and exited the old house. He was still unsure on how those monsters even existed, but he knew he was going to go back to the creepy old house sometimes, whether or not it was for work.
