Being Sirius with the Jynxx

Chapter One

Two days ago I sat, with my head down and my light hair laying in waves around my face. I didn’t know what to expect, but this amazingly fantastic escape was everything that I wanted and more. Everything that I needed was just in grasp now, and seeing the cocky boy strut up to the talking hat that lay on the stool I knew that somehow or another he was going to make my life a living hell. I didn’t know how, but I never doubted the thought for one minute.

As the hat was lowered onto his head there was a dead silence, his name had been announced moments ago, Sirius Black.

I remembered reading something about the Noble House of Black, but all I really remembered was that they were an egotistical group of self-righteous wizards that thought that just because they were Purebloods they could do what they wanted when they wanted to do it.

The hat was silent for a minute, and seeing the boy sit there with the hat resting upon his head I could see a silent fear radiating through his entire person. I wanted to know what was making him so nervous. Didn’t he want to be like his family?

No.

I noticed by the way his face lit up moments before the hat declared, “GRYFFINDOR!”

There was a loud eruption of whispers as he bounded over to what I presumed to be Gryffindor’s table.

I sighed, I was to get Slytherin most likely. My brother would be highly disappointed if I did not get into Slytherin, but he would be proud as long as I was the best. No matter what House I was in.

It took a while before I was called, and there were a few names that stuck out to me. Remus Lupin had a strange aura about him. It was brown, like a tamed animal.

Oh, did I forget to mention that I could see and control Auras. Well I can.

That boy Sirius had a gold aura, a nice pure color about him. James Potter had almost a matching aura and I knew they’d be the closest of friends in no time. Lily Evans was a vibrant green, which matched her well. Peter Pettigrew was someone who seemed to be easily manipulated which scared me a bit. While deep in my pondering I didn’t notice when my name was called. “Jynxx Riddle.”

I looked up, dark eyes wide as though I was caught in the headlights, though it was safe to say that that’s exactly what happened.

“Jynxx Riddle,” The mean looking professor repeated causing me to bound over to the hat, sitting on the stool silently before my whole world was cloaking in darkness as the extremely large hat fell over my eyes.

“Jynxx Riddle?” The hat asked inside my head it seemed.

“Uh….Y-yes?” I whispered rather frightened. I didn’t like the fact that it was inside my head.

“I see, well once this is done I’ll be out of your mind girl.”

“Uh, alright.”

“You are the sister of one Tom Riddle?”

“Yes sir.”

“Well, I see. A parsletongue like your brother than.”

“Well, I’m his half sister sir. From our father’s side. He didn’t like Father very much though.”

“I see,” the hat was quiet for a moment and then with a large yell that echoed in my ears I hear him shout, “GRYFFINDOR!”

My eyes widened as the words left his mouth. I was in Gryffindor? Me?

I stumbled rather dazed over to the table that had erupted in cheers. I was patted on the back, and the only ones that seemed rather concerned was the teachers who were whispering among themselves.

“Hey, I’m Sirius.” The boy from before said with a charming smile. His grey eyes sparkling mysteriously. He was up to no good already, and that James boy was no better.

“I’m Jynxx,” I said quietly, my eyes downcast as I thought about how I was going to tell Tom I was in Gryffindor.

“What’s up?” he asked as though he understood my situation.

“My brother isn’t going to be happy.”

“My whole family isn’t either.” He said with a large grin, “In fact, I expect a howler by tonight.”

“My Brother is all I have left.” I said quietly, “He’s all I ever had.”

“Well, chin up. It can’t be that bad now can it?”

I shrugged and he smiled, moving his gaze now to James who had started talking about something or other that didn’t really matter to me right now. Slowly I pulled out a piece of parchment and began scribbling what had happened down onto the paper. Finishing after telling my tale and whispering an enchantment over the paper, and with a poof of smoke the paper was gone. I only hoped that brother would be okay with this new information.
