Chapter 1: Eyes
"Ate! What are we doing here?!" inis na tanong ko.
I'm tired! I just came out from our dance practice for our performance on Sunday. After that she fetched me there. I was even compelled to wear high heels, but since my feet were hurting I used it as an excuse. I am wearing my favourite grey sneakers which were my father's present to me when I graduated from elementary.
This is a real hopeless case!
I think nag-away na naman sila ni Kuya Ryle that's why she's acting like that.
"Shantelle?" We looked behind after hearing a sweet voice from there. Those were Ate Eycee and Ate Chenie.
She's like an angel in black with that dress. And even with orange lipstick, she still shines.
"Hi there, little girl," bati ni Ate Chenie at bumeso sa 'kin.
"She's not a little girl anymore, she's already a lady," nakangiting sabi ni Ate Eycee saka umupo sa tabi ni Ate Chenie na nasa tabi ni Ate Shanty.
We're here in Calbrins Restaurant which is owned by Ate Eycee's family. Nakaupo kami sa isang rectangular table na may walong upuan. Apat sa left side at apat sa right side. Nasa right side ako, sa pinakadulo katapat ni Ate Shanty. Sila namang tatlo ay nasa left side.
They were all busy conversing with each other while I am silent here, using my phone. Ano ba kasing ginagawa namin dito? As an introvert, I don't like social gatherings that much.
"Annyeong?" Ate Marra came with a wide smile, behind her is her brother which is Kuya Brent while his headphones on. "Woah! Ate Marra teased Ate Eycee but she just rolled her eyes. "Waaah! Shanel! I missed you!" sabi ni Ate Marra at niyakap ako.
Ate Marra's my childhood best friend since in our circle, siya yung may pinakamalapit na age sa akin. And also, her bubbly attitude goes well with mine, though I am not bubbly like her.
"Exagge! She's like that, kanina pa. Probably because of Kuya Ryle, the one I mentioned earlier.
Aww! She's so cute.
Nag-usap na silang lahat maliban sa 'min ni Kuya Brent, which is also an introvert like me. Parang wala nga siyang pakialam at mayroon pang sariling mundo, habang ako? Gutom at bored na.
"Girls!!! NAND'YAN NA SIYA!" Ate Marra shouted while hopping so I looked behind since the entrance is just behind me. And there I saw someone who's wearing a mint green dress that matches her tan complexion. She's not as fair and white as ate Eycee but all I can say is... She's a goddess. She's wearing high stilettos, red matte lipstick and shades, that even made her prettier.
