Once upon a time, long forgotten was a world inhabited by mankind. Mankind believed in their gods, and as such, the gods existed. Soon after the revelation of their existence, the people of the world rapidly fell into the depths of greed. Day after day, the gods received prayers begging for various oddities and riches, to which they simply couldn't grant.
Greed grew weary on the gods, they became furious. By divine power, they created a creature to punish mankind for their sins. This creature was a dragon that went by the name Sigvard. It was born of immense power, cunning, and intellect, so much so that it already was devising a scheme to betray the gods and take the world for itself. Part of this trick was to continue with the gods’ orders, which would further its own goals. Sigvard became the terror to mankind, killing and consuming all who appeared in his gaze.
Quickly realizing the power of their creation, the gods created another in an attempt to stop Sigvard, but the new dragon stood no chance and only served to be a pawn for Sigvard. From this dragon, it created many new dragons to serve and help in the conquering of the world. Those who survived to tell this tale never knew the true name of this beast, and as such, gave it a name. Its name would live on as "The World-Eater."
