Howdy, y'all! I am back and in college! I actually have a computer now so I will keep up with updates. Hoping every week. <3 Sorry it's short.

"Honey, wake up. It's time to go." The mother was gently shaken awake by her husband. Rubbing her eyes to try and see in the dark room, she looked at her husband. After her eyes adjusted, she saw their belongings packed and the food packed up. The husband already had the baby bundled up to keep her warm in the chilly night air.

"Come on, I scouted it out. The window isn't far off the ground and the mages still awake don't come by the hall we need to pass. I have everything ready let's go." The mother nodded and stood from the cot before grabbing their sleeping child, hoping she would stay asleep like she normally did until they escaped.

They silently moved down the hall with the husband in front making sure the coast was clear. With every step closer to their escape, their hearts sped up in anticipation and fear. The baby remained asleep until they reached the window. The wind brushed against her face, startling her awake. The husband jumped from the window as the mother tried to hush the baby. It was not long before footsteps could be heard coming down the hall. The husband urged the mother to jump from the window at least 6 feet from the ground quickly. Although scared, she jumped holding the baby to her chest and landing not so silently in her husband's arms. They didn't have time to catch their breath as they ran away from the temple. The shouts from the angry mages grew quieter the further they were from the temple until they were gone. They didn't stop running until the sun began to show over the horizon. After running blindly through the forest, they could almost see around them. They were lost. The father guided his wife slowly through the forest looking closely around them. He searched for danger in the trees and moved with every sound. The mother gripped her husband's hand, scared and tired. The daughter was awake watching her surroundings as if she could see things her parents couldn't.

The sun was in the middle of the sky before they stopped to rest. The mother was panting and eager to rest, giving her arms a break from holding her surprisingly heavy daughter. The father sat down next to his wife making sure she was eating and drinking before he helped himself. He didn't know where they were but he suspected they were far enough away that they could rest a few hours before having to get back to their escape. He set up a few blankets for his wife and daughter before settling on a rock as lookout. He was too worried to sleep, his military training kicking in. He had been a soldier in the war before he got injured defending a small village. He had fully recovered but his wife had convinced him to not go back, pretending he had never fully recovered. Because he was not a famous soldier, he was able to go unnoticed in some of the smaller villages that was until he ran into his old general just before his wife's labor. Having to hide his identity to keep his wife safe, they ran into the shelter of the woods where they lived right up till their daughter's hair changed to purple. After that they sought help from the mages. He knew getting home was near impossible let alone making it out of the forest alive. If they by some miracle make it out, they still have to figure out how to protect their daughter.

"Oh spirits please, help us. I'll do anything for my daughter's safety, please." He looked up to the sky, praying to the spirits.

A few hours had passed now and fire benders were on the search for the couple. No matter where they looked, they couldn't find them. The spirits had cloaked the area surrounding the child, including the parents. The father had finally fallen asleep no matter how hard he tried to stay awake. This is when the magic happened.
