Chapter 1: A Panicked Reaction (Laced Chapter 56)

-Laced Chapter 56-

My stomach is turning and I feel like I'm going to be sick. My head's pounding all of a sudden and I lose my focus on the road. Before any crazy shit can happen, I slow down and pull over to the side of the road.

As I do so, a car hits us from behind. Abby screams, but I try to stay calm, knowing we're safe, since this car can't be destroyed that easily, although I'm not so sure about the car that hit us. I get out and so does Abby.

"Are you okay?" I ask her, but avoid looking at her.

"Yeah, I guess" see answers and I finally look at her. She has a cut on her forehead but it doesn't seem that bad. I feel a stining pain in my palm and I look down to it. It's bleeding, a glass fragment must have cut it. Fuck! I rip a piece off my shirt and wind it around my hand, trying to stop the blood.

I pull my cell phone out of my pocket and call Nick. I tell him to come get us from the main highway. He hangs up to get the car.

"What about them? The people in the other car?" Abby asks in a small voice.

I looked over at the car that hit us. It is upside down at the side of the road. I sigh and don't say anything about it. If they're dead...

Nick comes and we get in the car without any words. The driver doesn't ask anything, sensing my shitty mood. I sit at the passenger's seat and Abby at the back seat.

When we reach the mansion, I take Abby and we go straight to the hospital. Liam is there and he looks at us, shock clear in his eyes.

"What happened?" he asks. Harry comes in the waiting room, too, with the same look on his face as Liam.

I explain everything that happened after we entered the garage, even though I knew Abby wouldn't want me to talk about Sebastian. Well, she almost got us killed, didn't she? While I speak, Liam stitches Abby's forehead and wraps a gauze around my hand. He gives us both something to help us sleep and we go to our rooms.

Luckily, sleep claims me right after I lay down on my bed, clothes on and everything. I am more than gratefull for that.
