Papyrus stood by and watched as the human struck the last monster. He dearly wanted to stop them, but he had no words. He was frozen in one spot. The human licked their knife, their expression showing their cruel insanity. Papyrus was too horrified to even do anything. He had just gotten to the scene, only to witness another cruel death. He had seen many and has even tried stopping the human himself. The human had ignored his pleas and had constantly followed them, begging for them to stop killing everyone. He had offered to help teach turn the human's life around for the better, to no avail.

Everyone is...dead. Papyrus thought, swaying on his feet. He felt dizzy with shock and grief. Except...me. And I think King Asgore is still alive as well.

Papyrus pressed his hands against his skull and sat down on the snowy ground. Two weeks had passed since his brother's death, and the human had gone to every part of the underground, only to return to Snowdin to kill a few stragglers. He had tried so hard to stop the human. He had gone up to them many times, offering to befriend them and give them a chance. He believed in the human. He really did.

And I still do! Papyrus thought, horrified at the darkness of his own thoughts. I can't give up on them! The Great Papyrus never gives up on anything! He thought fiercely. But he still couldn't help the grief that pierced his soul whenever he thought of all the monsters that had been killed. Then a horrifying thought made him sick.

The human has killed everyone except Asgore. I'm the only one left. There's no Royal Guard for me to join, I think. He stared blankly at the human, who was now skipping away from the dust of their last victim, humming cheerfully.

Now what do I do?
