i've been here in Italy for a year now. It's now time to visit LA, and cut the tension with my mom.
On the way to the airport, Guinevere felt nervous. She didn't know what to do, what to expect when she goes back home.
will me and my mom fix this problem? will we ever make up?
She waited for a few hours before it's finally time to board the plane. She went to her designated seat and got surprised when she found out someone else was seated there.
"Excuse me, sir. That's my seat, see?" she said, showing him her plane ticket.
"Yeah i know, i just figured out that my seatmate was a girl. I know how much you all love sitting by the window, right?" the mysterious guy said, with a big smile on his face.
i get it, such a charmer
"Yeah thanks i guess but you shouldn't do that. Do you uhm do that often?" Guinevere asked.
She was very curious at how this guy is really comfortable with this situation. And by that situation, she means herself.
"I do, but you are the first one to appreciate the gesture. Please sit already, people are gonna start wondering why i won't let you. They might catch us switching seats as well." he said, laughing.
"Yeah uhm thanks again and what is your name?"
"Oh so you're actually that kind of seatmate that communicates, cool! I'm Josh. You?"
"Guinevere, Guinevere Jones. But can you just call me Vere? I'm not comfortable with people calling me by my real name." she said, quickly.
"So I see. You don't look Italian. Are you by chance originally from LA?" he asked, curious.
such a cat, but a kind one. but still a curious one.
"Yeah that's true. LA is my hometown. You don't look Italian yourself, are you from LA as well?" she asked, hiding the curiosity in her tone.
"Yeah! I'm gonna visit my family. I mean, it's hard working in a place miles away from home."
"I mean, it's pretty easy though." she said, with sadness in her voice.
"I'm assuming things aren't good with you and your family but i'm bad at these."
"Well, you guessed it right this time."
"Great! But no, how long has your family been like this?"
"Like a year now, that's why I decided to come back for a while." she said, staring at the window.
"I don't think you want to talk about this so I am just gonna steer this conversation away from that and besides, i need sleep." Josh said, laughing a bit.
sure thing.
