It was a long day of nonstop missions and I was wobbling my way back home while the sun was setting behind me.

"Hey, Y/N! Over here!" A familiar voice was heard behind me.

I turned around to see Komushi waving his arms and smiling at me like he always does, and Sasori was standing behind him with that same blank expression on his face. I wave back at them with a smile. "Hey, guys! How's it been?"

Running towards me, Komushi said almost yelling "We haven't seen you all day, Y/N. Lord Kazekage been over working you again, I see."

I rolled my eyes at his witty comment, he always joked about me being the Kazekage's favorite since my family is well know for having an important and powerful jutsu out of all the shinobi of the village. "Don't be so jealous that more stronger than you are."

"Ha! You wish. At least I get to be a look out at the front entrance of the village tonight, I'll prove to you that I'm just as strong as you will ever be." He said pounding his chest showing off his confidence.

I smiled at his attempts to be brave and looked over at Sasori, still giving me a blank stare that almost made my heart jump. "How has things been for you, Sasori? Any new puppets being made?"

Sasori only nodded and Komushi answered for him "Yeah, he made three new puppets actually. I think they were called... Crow, Salamander...and Black Ant, right?" Looking back at him.

Sasori nodded once again, not looking away from me.

I smiled "They sound pretty cool. I can't wait to see them in action once they are completed."

"Wait, how did you know their not ready yet?" said Komushi shocked.

"I figure Sasori must have made a formula of a new poison for one of the puppets."

Komushi gave a smug look "Man, You guys hang out with each other way to much for my taste. Makes me wonder why you two haven't started dating yet."

My face turned bright red, my heart sped up twice as much as it should've been and I waved my hands fanatically "What?! Don't be ridiculous, We're only good friends! I don't know what gave you that idea!" I laughed nervously.

I quickly looked over at Sasori and saw he was looking down at the ground. Since it was almost dark, I thought I saw a slight blush run across his face.

"Uh, I'm going to get going now. It's been a long day for me, I'll catch up with you guys later." I turned around and started running, getting away from the awkwardness.

I got home out of breath, still processing what had just happened then managed to calm myself down thinking 'It was just a joke, right? Why is this bothering me so much than the Kazekage comment? Komushi likes to push my buttons like that makes no sense.'

A knock at my door got me out of my thoughts and I opened the door to see someone I did not expect to see at my door step. "S-Sasori?!"

Still having a blank expression he asked to come inside "There's something we need to address."

My heart started racing again, I allowed him inside and we sat awkwardly on the couch without say anything to each other for five minutes which felt like an eternity.

Sasori was the one to break the silence "Y/N, Do you know the true meaning of real art?"

Confused I said "Uh, I'm not sure what you're getting at."

"Art is meant to last for a long period of time, Eternal beauty is what Art truly is."

"Ok, What does this have to do with me exactly?"

Sasori look directly into my eyes and moved his face a few inches close to my face causing me to blush "You have everything to do with eternal beauty." He reached over to touch my face. "I've noticed your face stood the same from when we were kids. Your eye shape, The way your cheeks shaped when you smile, the tone in your voice when you speak is a perfect example of eternal beauty."

I was completely speechless, I didn't know how to respond to what he just said to me. Then he said something that gave me chills up my spine "You would've made a perfect specimen for my collection but I rather use someone who would be oblivious to be a part of my puppet experiment."

"Wait, what are you talking about? What are you planning?"

He traced his thumb across the bottom of my lip and said "You'll find out soon enough, But don't think I would ever forget about you. Consider this a promise that I will make you my one my puppets someday."

Sasori then got up and left my house without saying another word to me. That following morning I never saw Sasori the same way again, but my feelings for him somehow stood intact.

Thinking back on that day now makes me regret ever having feelings for a guy, that I've had a gut feeling for so long, that would never have feelings for me back. Time has past and he is now wanted for his crimes as a rouge ninja. My feelings for him stood as they are like his puppets he left behind, stronge but stiff and non existant to be felt as a feeling. Years has past and he's now a wanted criminal, will we ever meet face to face again? Only this mission will tell when it begins.
