No ones pov
Matt walst glanced at the watch on his wrist and groaned. He'd been outside of this restaurant for over half an hour waiting for his date to turn up. He'd tried to convince himself that maybe they were having car troubles but thirty minutes of waiting was getting a little excessive. His blue eyes scanned the car park, only seeing couples coming out from their cars and making their way into the popular restaurant.
He pulled his phone out of his pocket and checked if there was anything there. He felt his stomach drop when there was no text from his date or even a missed phone call. He let out another groan, this one a little louder as he slid the phone back into his pocket and began the short walk from his spot in front of the restaurant to his car that was parked over near the beach on the other side of town. He pushed his hands into his pockets as he walked, the excited smile that was previously on his face falling from being stood up again.
He stopped at a crossing and pushed the button. His eyes wandered and he caught his reflection in one of the shop windows. He was dressed in his black dress shirt, much like any other time he wasn't wearing a tank-top under. There was at least 2-3 buttons at the top that weren't done up properly but Matt thought that I'd increase his chances of possibly going on another date. Matt was also wearing black jeans that had his chain that was hooked on one of his loops in his pants dangling from the side. His blond hair tucked behind his ear, showcasing his handsome features aswell as the right eyebrow piercing that sat in its rightful place. A smirk grew on his lips. He knew he certainly wasn't hard on the eyes to look at. He also had a hot body that was shown off due to the well fitted suit.
He heard the sound from the crossing and dragged himself away from his own reflection for a moment to walk across the street. He couldn't help but feel a little self conscious as he walked past the cars, wondering if they could smell the rejection that was currently plaguing him. He let out a sigh. He hadn't even really wanted to go on this date but his bestfriend Sal had almost forced him into it.
This was the second date that Sal had convinced him to go on. Yes, sal was three years younger than Matt but apparently that didn't matter, He knew that his bestfriend friend was only trying to do what was best for him but he really wished he wouldn't. Matt knew that he was good looking and he was only twenty-eight for crying out loud. He wasn't at the desperate stage of his life yet and it certainly didn't consume his every thought. Sure, he had been single for a while but he wasn't lonely. He was happy where he was in life. He knew he'd be happier if there was someone to share it with but he was content for the moment. He only wished that if Sal was going to set him up with random people that they would actually show up.
He pulled his phone out of his pocket and unlocked the screen. His thumb scrolled through his contacts until he settled on that of his friend, wanting to let the older man know just how shit he was at picking him dates. He clicked the call icon on his phone and then held his phone up to his ear. He heard it ring through a number of times and he was just about to hang it up when he heard a voice through the other end of the phone.
"Fuck. Hello?" Sal voice sounded almost annoyed.
"Hey." Matt replied through the phone. "Thanks for setting me up with another no show."
"Umm" Sal said almost uncomfortable "Now's not the best time."
Matt creased his brow. "Huh? Why not?"
"My girlfriend came back just a few days ago and I'm just a bit busy right now, but I'll call you later."
Matt didn't even get a chance to say a word before Sal hung up the phone. He rolled his eyes and slid his phone back into his pocket. He needed a drink and definitely sooner rather than later. He walked a little bit further down the street, keeping his eyes open for a nicer establishment to kill a few hours in. He stopped at the last bar at the end of the street that was but a stone's throw from the beach. It was still light outside but the red neon lights that indicated the name of the bar were flashing dramatically already.
