"dear students, the christmas prom is coming soon!" the teacher said, proudly. "until the 25th of december, you have to get a date."
hearing the word "date", all the girls stared at my best friend, jeon jeongguk.
now, jeongguk stared at me. everyone called me lucky, since i was THE jeon jeongguk's best friend. to be more clear, koo has really, really known parents. his parents are the most known actors of south korea!
"jeongguk! please go to prom with me!"
"jeongguk, be my date!"
"jeongguk, be my boyfriend!"
after school, when i was going home, gguk ran after me.
"minnie! who should i go to prom with?"
"koo.. you have over a month to think! just- just- go to prom with whoever you want! i don't care!"
the younger boy stared at me, with puppy eyes.
"jimjim? are you mad at me?"
my eyes go huge.
"no, no, koo. its just that-"
"you can always rant to me!"
"i know. its just stress, okay?" i give him a fake smile.
"okay.. i'll go home now.. see you tomorrow, jiminie!"
"see you." i say with small tears in my eyes.

no one was in the kitchen or in the living room, so i just went straight to my room.
"park. fucking. jimin."
i sigh, knowing exactly what was going to happen.
"where the fuck have you been?" he yells.
"sorry, father. i was out with jeon-"
"jeongguk, jeongguk, jeongguk! same old fucking shit! can you just shut up about him, you stupid little gay kid? i told you to come home exactly when you come from school, not to hang out with 'jungkook'!"
"d-dad, i'm so-"
i suddenly get a hard slap on my cheek.
"why can't you be like your older brother? huh? tell me what i did wrong in raising you! i raised you exactly like i raised him, but you're still such a dumb and ugly kid!"
small tears come from my face.
"stop crying and just do your homework." he sighs. "at least i have a succesful son."
he leaves the room, and i just lay on my bed.
it's always the same.
