I make frequent visits to the construction site[across from St. Thomas Episcopal], to keep up with progress towards reinventing Downtown Thomasville, and to see MARIA! Eye-candy for sure. I had hoped that men living in the Fountain of Life homeless shelter[612 E.Clay Street] could find work there. All the local employees working on the site[primarily for sub-contractors] come through a temporary labor supplier like Hiring Solutions. This is a travesty, and far too common in Red States.
Ask yourself why an employer will pay $15/hr, to receive temps making $7.25/hr? Ask yourself why kidz faced with this dreadful reality join our military? Ask yourself why...
