She had felt the intruders as soon as they entered her domain. With loud shouts and hollers of triumph as they walking inside the castle she thought of as her sanctuary.
They created such a fuss about it, getting into this place, that she could only assume it had been far too long. Until that incident, everyone had taken to avoiding this forsaken place like the plague. Which was appreciated until this very moment.
Britta was unsure of how long the intruders had taken up quick residency. But she was very aware of it being far too long, and with the length of time taken to spending in her safe haven, they were bound to find her eventually.
All she had to do now, is wait.

When they did discover Britta's 'room', they seemed louder than ever. Though, Britta could say she understood why. The amount of silver and gold-laden things kept in the secret room of her's were probably more than these men ever thought they would come into contact with. For humans like them, reacting this way to the normalcy that is her wealth, was laughable.
They made a mistake though. One that drew a sadistic little smile onto Britta's pale face. Her coffin, made of rich oak, caked in silver and gold, which she slept in at this very moment...
They cracked it open, to find the hidden jewels that they were sure a corpse was wearing.
Well... Britta hadn't allowed the foolish mortals to get over the shock of finding a completely intact little girl. Oh no...
Because people that entered this castle weren't to be seen or heard of again. And Britta was finally awake. Finally free.
