Madelyn Ann Harris needs a miracle.
The day before her birthday, her mother passed away by an unknown cause.
She was devastated and distraught as her mom was her only friend.
Her father, an alcoholic jerk, blamed the death on Madelyn and called the police on her.
Madelyn was quickly proved to being innocent and her father got a small warning as he owned a famous business.
Madelyn's father, Drake Harris, dragged her home muttering incoherent words all the way, and locked her in the basement for more than 2 days.
That same day, her boyfriend, Tommy, broke up with her shouting,
"I don't need a depressed girlfriend!"
You can say that she had one heck of a horrible day.
A week later, Mr. Harris told her to get out of his house and to get a job.
Madeline really wished she was someone else.
After a few days of living on the streets she got hired at a nearby coffee shop and was ecstatic.
She got her uniform and started working there.
But one day, a handsome young lad ran into her with his drink.
"Watch where you're going, idiot."
The lad muttered the last word quietly.
Madeline scoffed at him and looked up from her now coffee stained apron.
Honey colored eyes met the most beautiful shade of ocean blue.
If you have stumbled upon this story, then welcome! I hope you will stick around through thick and thin and will enjoy this story. This book is a slow burn and will not consist of any very mature scenes.
