I walked down the hallway, trying to find my dorm. I lazily looked around, trying to stay out of people's way. I finally found my room and unlocked it, slowly walking in. I looked directly at the open window, which illuminated bright colors. My hand flew up to block the blinding flash of pink and blue.

My eyes finally adjusted, and I saw a girl with red hair fixing her bed. I cleared my throat awkwardly, trying to get her attention. She turned around quickly with a huge smile on her face.

"Hi! You must be (Y/N)! I'm Delia, nice to meet you!" She held her hand out for me to take, but I just stared at it unamused. She was loud and too enthusiastic, talking so fast I barely caught what she said.

"Uh... Hi. Nice to meet you too?" I cringed away, still trying to adjust to all the colors she had on her side of the room.

Without saying another word, I walked to my bed. I sat down, trying to bounce a little to see how fluffy the mattress was, but it didn't seem to budge.

"Oh... Okay." She mumbled and put her hand down, then turned back around to finish unpacking.

It took me about 15 minutes to unpack and organize everything I had bought to school with me. Delia, however, was still unpacking the stuffed animals and what ever she bought.

I laid down and stared at the ceiling, trying to avoid eye contact once she finally finished unpacking. Delia sat on her bed, watching me.

"I'm going to go to dinner, would you like to join me?" She asked, breaking the silence a little to enthusiastically.

"Not hungry." I stated simply, and she just nodded. She got up, grabbed her key and left the dorm.

I laid back down, and rolled myself up in my blanket. I felt warm and sleepy, but I knew I shouldn't fall asleep because I would throw my sleep schedule off and I had to wake up early the next morning to go to my classes.

I let my eyes fall shut, and I fell asleep. I don't know how long I've been sleeping, but I was woken up by an annoying tapping sound.

"Delia! Will you cut that out!" I shouted at her, but didn't look or sit up. The tapping stopped and I turned over to face the wall, looking for my phone to check the time. 7:47. Two hours of sleep, that wasn't so bad...

I sighed and sat up, rubbing my eyes. I felt hungry and dehydrated. And I really needed to pee. I stood up and stretched.

I went to the bathroom, then walked to my bed to put my shoes on.

"Delia, I'm going to get some food in town, I'll be back." I didn't look at her, and left before she could say anything. As I walked down the hall, I put my hoodie on. I left the dorms and walked down the street to McDonald's, which was the closest fast food restaurant to campus.

I got back to my dorm, and Delia was on the phone, laughing and giggling like a little girl.

"Oh! I have to go, but I'll call you tomorrow... Yeah... I know! Alright, I love you too... Okay, yeah. Goodnight!" She hung up and smiled, looking at me.

"Oh! You got McDonald's?" She asked, watching me take the food out of the bag.

"Yeah... I told you that before I left." I looked at her with a confused look, and she looked at me with the same expression.

"I guess."

"Yeah..."

We stood in awkward silence, looking at the ground.

"Well, I'm going to go shower."

"I'm going to eat."

We both did our separate things in silence.
