I was rolled back into my room by the nurse and as we entered everyone looked over.
My dad, mom, Maggie, Robbie and Esther, all with frowns on their faces and worry in their eyes. Nobody said anything as I was lifted back into bed and we were left alone again.

My mom cleared her throat, "honey, we need to talk."

She wouldn't make eye contact with me.

"About what?"

"What's been going on?" My dad piped up.

My eyebrows furrowed together as I looked away.

"I don't know-"

"You do know." Robbie said sternly.

I shifted my eyes over to him.

"Mom."

"All we want to know is what's on your mind. You've been seeing your therapist for a long time now and we thought you were getting better but- but you've changed. You're not yourself, all you do is work and sleep. You don't eat. You don't go outside. Then, you go fainting, first in the shower then in the elevator, what's going on? What aren't you telling us?" My mom pleaded.

I couldn't cry, I had cried so much in the last 27 years I didn't think I had any tears left. I began to slightly shake as I was being torn in two. Do I tell them? Will they believe me? Will they send me somewhere if they think I've gone insane?

"Okay." I breathed out.

Squeezing my eyes shut I tried to find the right words.

"You'll wanna sit down."

They all exchanged quick glances before getting settled, their full attention on me.

"Do you remember- do you guys remember that guy- Robbie's dad that I told you about?" I swallowed the lump in my throat.

They shook their heads yes.

"Well- he- he wasn't really a guy..." I exhaled as I looked down at my thumbs which were anxiously switching.

"He- was something otherworldly. He was something special, something supernatural."

Looking back up to them, I could see the confusion on their faces as they waited for me to continue.

"I met him in my dorm room- he- he showed up after I found his red balloon, he was a clown... but at the same time he wasn't a clown. He was also the most beautiful man I'd ever seen." Just when I thought I was out of tears, they began to reappear.

"I- I didn't know how to tell you, it sounds insane- it sounds crazy but I'm not. Do you remember when I fell and hurt myself back then? That's when they told me I was pregnant. Robbie survived that, he's a miracle, he's like his dad- he's special, powerful. The doctors had no idea how he could've survived something like that but I do."

Blank stares remained on everyone's faces.

"He only comes back ever 27 years. I don't know where he goes, but he's gone. He left, he had to. I've been seeing him a lot lately, in a lot of places and I don't understand." I shook my head, trying to make sense of everything myself.

The room remained silent, so silent you could hear a pin drop. I looked up at Robbie who looked over to my parents. Esther held onto Robbie as she stared down to the ground. My parents and Maggie remained still, just staring at me.

"I'm so sorry" I began to cry.

"So, Robbie is only half human?" Esther spoke up, cutting through the silence.

"Yeah." He exhaled. "I told you I was out of this world."

Without missing a beat, we all burst out into laughter. I hadn't laughed like this in a long time. But soon the laughter began to fade and reality came rushing back.

"You knew about this?" My mom asked Robbie.

"Yeah, she told me a while ago." He gave me a sympathetic smile.

"Sweetie I- I don't know what to say. This is a lot to process..."

"Hell yeah it is." Said my dad. "You're telling me some supernatural thing came to you in college and got you pregnant and you fell in love with IT?"

"Yes."

A sudden knock on the door made us all jump.

"Visiting hours will be over in 5 minutes." The nurse said as she poked her head in the door frame.

"We will revisit this conversation tomorrow." My mom said as she stood up and they all gathered their stuff. "I'll be here, 7am sharp!"

"Are you gonna be okay?" Maggie asked as she put her hand on my shoulder.

I nodded.
