Bakugo had been patrolling, just as he had every day, for the past..six months. He had graduated from U.A. around that time. While all that had changed, his temper hadn't, at least not by much. He was still angry, egotistical Bakugo. He had, however, been more patient with other people around him, and took his anger out on villains instead.
It was just an average day in Musutafu, just like it had always been: the sun showing itself onto Katsuki's tan, scarred skin, and the voices of children and townspeople ran through the streets. Honestly, he couldn't be much happier.
He grabbed the corner of a brick building. Bakugo could feel the heat through his gloves. It was a sushi shop. Kirishima had taken him there a couple of times before. Maybe he'd take him later this week. Though he'd never want to walk this side of town ever again.
He sighed with his eyes closed, feeling the heat on his skin as he turned the corner.
"Oh, Kacchan~! Long-time no see, eh?"
All of Bakugo's cells went into attack mode, as he looked ahead of him. Almost as if it were instinct, he went into a fight stance before he got a good look at who said such a cursed name. It was a boy, around his age with deep, dark, bags under his void-like eyes. He had a grin on his face, but it wasn't friendly by any means. His dress shirt was wrinkled horribly, and a little dirty with light spots.
"Deku..." was all he could muster out. Was it him though? As much as he hated him, he knew he didn't look like...well that.
"Please, it's Izuku, not Deku, Katsuki."
Bakugo was feeling speechless, sick that he had to see that awful face. "What the hell are you doing in my way? Can't you see I'm trying to go somewhere?!"
Izuku completely ignored him and continued speaking. "Or maybe I should call you...Ground Zero now, huh..? Y'know, since you're the hero you've always wanted to be?" The blond froze for a moment, taken aback that Midoriya just ignored him. "I'm proud of you, Ground Zero," he spoke cheerfully, walking closer.
"Don't step any closer to me, Deku-!!"
"You always said you were going to become the number one hero, and look where you are now! Number one hero!" His words were more bitter this time, cold and unforgiving. He coughed and spoke more happily. "How does it feel to be number one? To destroy everyone who is nearby just to be at the top? Does it feel nice, Kacchan~?"
"What the hell are you talking about, Deku? I didn't do shit broccoli for brains! I got to the top fair and square, and you have no right to tell me otherwise!" Bakugo raised his hand forwards and started to blast Izuku before he was stopped.
"Mmhmm," Midoriya had forcefully grabbed Katsuki's hand. "Not as strong as I thought the number one hero was going to be, but I guess it will just have to do. Wow, the hero's never cease to disappoint me.."
Bakugo pauses for another moment. This wasn't the Midoriya he knew. "You used to be obsessed with All Might, why are you acting like this, you fuckin' nerd! Is this a prank?" He determined at that moment, he liked the old Izuku more. He tried to blast him again, but whatever Midoriya had done, made Katsuki stop blasting. "What the fuck, Nerd?!"
Izuku only laughed, "Number one hero...Ground-"
"I get it Midoriya! I'm the number one hero Ground Zero! Now can you explain why you're acting like such a prick?" Bakugo pulled his hand away from the other aggressively. "God what the fuck?!"
Midoriya sighed, "Okay, okay, but only because you asked me so nicely!" Within a second, he pulled down Bakugo by his hero uniform, pushing him face to face with himself. "Listen here, Katsuki," Izuku hissed, with a twisted smile, " You don't deserve to be number one, not by being so anti-heroic, anyways, so I'm going to make your life a living hell, just like you did to me..." Midoriya pushed him away, "By the end my reign, Katsuki, you'll be wishing you had never even lived." He turned away and smiled, "Anyways, it was nice seeing you again, Kacchan! I'll see you soon~!" With that, Izuku turned into the alley next to the sushi place, leaving Bakugo alone on the sidewalk.
"What the hell shitty nerd?" He ran into the alley, only to find it empty. "Damn it!" Could he really be telling the truth, was he going to make life hell, Bakugo asked himself. "I'll be fine..."
When his phone rang, he jumped. "Shit." It was Kirishima.
"Hey, shitty hair, what's up?"
He could hear Kirishima's toothy grin through the phone, "Hey, kickin' ass out there, GZ?"
"Like always," Bakugo replied.
"Great, I was worried that something may have happened, just because your patrol ended at 5 today!" Bakugo looked confused, walking away from the alley. Kirishima noticed the silence, "We had plans tonight, remember?"
"Oh of course, how could I forget!" he smiled, "I'll meet you in a couple of minutes!"
"Alrighty, Bakuboy!" Kirishima hung up.
He hadn't forgotten what Izuku had told him, but he didn't have time for Kirishima to worry if he seemed off. It was time for plans with his closest friend.
