'All alone, as always' I thought as I watched all of the students pass by me, leaving no interest on me or the empty chairs. I was used to being lonely. I didn't have any friends. They all left me. They never told me why. Me jumping to conclusions didn't help my depression, either. I stopped caring a while back. I looked at my food with no appetite. I still had to eat it, even if I didn't want to. I was snapped out of my thoughts by someone clearing their throat. I looked up, surprised to see an actual friendly face looking down at me. I didn't recognize him. Looking at his features, he reminded me of a black cat. He had short, layered black hair and bright jade green eyes. "Mind if I sit here? " he asked. I shook my head. He smiled and took the seat next to me. I stayed silent, looking at my hands in my lap. "You're one of the few kids here that actually look friendly," he said, seemingly trying to spark up a conversation with me. I looked up at him again. "Thank you," I whispered softly, pulling down my long sweater sleeves. You probably understand why. He took a bite of pizza before speaking up again. "Where are your friends? Do they have detention?" He asked. I looked up, not knowing how to properly answer his question. I decided to just keep it simple. "I, uh, don't have any." I answered looking down. I cringed when I heard his silence. I was about to lose any hope I had of him becoming my friend until I felt a gentle hand on my shoulder. I felt my eyes squeeze shut, not expecting such a kind gesture. I turned to see him. His face showed sympathy, but you could tell it was serious. "I'll be your friend. "He said, his words dripping with kindness. "Really?" I whispered. He nodded. "Everyone, especially you, need a friend. That would be me!" he replied, his smile growing wider. For the first time in a while, my smile was real.
A.N. So, for the first time in a while I wrote something the wasn't fan fiction. Mainly, because I'm not the best at creating characters. I have a deviantart with my same user name that includes a little bit more writing. Please tell me if you somehow enjoy this
