"BILL! STOP! DON'T TOUCH THAT!" Dipper screamed, but to no avail. The Demon had the book. Not the book in Dipper's possession, no. It was the book Dipper had read about in that mystery solving journal of his own.

Dipper knew all about this book, the golden one the demon held in his scrawny hands. It could rewrite the past- and obviously, no one could stop him. Except the one fact that demons could not write in the book.

"Stupid Dorito." Dipper gave a cold laugh from within the magic trap Bill had him in, "Demons can't write in the book!"

"Oh I know." Bill smirked (with his eye of course), flipping the pages of the golden book.

"Then... wha-" Dipper was confused. If the demon couldn't write in the book, then-

"That's why you're gonna do it for me!" Bill laughed at the boy when his face drained of all color.

"No I won-" Dipper began but then the demon cut in.

"You forget that I have your sister pine tree!" The triangle chuckled, "How'd you feel if shooting star were to- I dunno, say, DIE!?"his magic squeezed her tighter, causing Mabel to choke.

"Wait! Stop..." Dipper sighed as the demon's grip loosened on the girl, "Fine. I'll do it."

Mabel shook her head no, and was about to speak, but Bill snapped tape onto her mouth, and all that came out was a muffle. Dipper made his way to the book and sighed as Bill told him what to write. He wanted the three of them to be friends-and forget that Bill was a demon.

"Old friends? What are you up to demon?" The boy groaned.

"Stop asking questions and write kid." Bill crossed his arms, watching as the boy finished the task. Then the book was closed.

The deal was sealed.

There was no turning back.

"No matter what happens, I will always hate you!" Dipper cried out as the world began to tear beneath Dipper's feet.

"Haha, no you won't!" Bill Cipher laughed, "I'm turning the pages in our story!"

Then, Dipper blacked out, and Mabel disappeared. The world was covered in white.

Dipper sighed, fiddling with the pages in the journal in his hands. Fantasy, his favorite genre.

Knock knock

Dipper made his way to the door, book under his arm. He opened the door to see a tall man, with messy blond hair, and a small black top hat. He wore a gold and black suit with black boots and gloves. He also had an eye patch to cover one eye while the other was a strange gold. Dipper just figured that he'd worn a gold colored contact or something. The man had a strange fashion that oddly suited him.

"Hey kid, do ya know who I am?" The man smirked at the small boy with the bright hazel nut eyes.

"Of course I do," Dipper laughed, "you're Bill Cipher, who doesn't know you?" He smiled and hugged onto the taller man who chuckled. Dipper knew him well, or so he thought- Bill came for taxes and such. He was the mayor of gravity falls after all, he practically owned the place. And after he collected taxes, he'd take the twins out and buy them a snack, and then he'd take them to the library. The twins had loved him.

'So much for hating me huh pine tree?' Bill thought to himself with a mischievous laugh as the boy hugged him.

"Watcha got there?" He asked the boy who still hugged onto him.

"Oh, this?" Dipper smiled, holding the book out to the demon who was hidden under the skin of his human body, "It's just some fantasy book that has a bunch of made up creatures in it. Do you want to see it?"

Bill smirked. Never before would Dipper offer to hand the book to the demon, and better yet, he didn't even believe in the things in it.

"Yeah I'd love to see it." He took the book from the boy's small hands easily as he flipped through the pages, "hey, where's your sister?" Bill handed the book back to Dipper. He'd destroy it later when he wasn't looking.

"Oh, Mabel? She went shopping with her friends." Dipper waved a hand as he set the book down on a nearby counter top.

"Oh? Then it'll just be you and me going to the library huh?" Bill snickered.

"Yeah!" Dipper smiled, "stay right here, I'm gonna go take a shower real quick, before we go." He gave the man an innocent, cute, smile Bill had never seen before.

"Make it quick so we can get some breakfast too pine tree!" Bill shouted after him.

Dipper halted in his steps, with a shocked look plastered on his face as he turned on his heel to face the demon, "W-what did you just call me?" He asked Bill, in an almost baffled tone of voice.

"..." Bill started at the kid for a long moment, his lips thinned out into a flat line, "nothing... go take your shower..." He finally replied as the boy hesitantly turned his back and headed up the stairs.

Bill frowned. Maybe the boy was right. He'd have to be more careful about what he said.

Meanwhile, Dipper stepped into the shower, letting the warm water run over his bare skin. He was confused- more than that, he was puzzled. The name felt so familiar- yet so foreign...

'Pine tree' ... for some reason... He hated it. He hated that nickname. But no one has called him that before, so why...

Why did he despise it?
