"Dude, no offense but you lowkey suck." Kenny rolls his eyes and pushes him over. "Shut up, you just don't get my strategy." "Your strategy is mental, that is why you keep dying." Kyle concentrates on the TV screen again, firmly holding the xBox controller. "Okay I may suck at Fortnite but at least I don't steal TVs." "Hey it's not stolen! We just...borrowed it. The teachers don't use that break room anyway so nobody has noticed yet." "I wish I had one in my room." Kyle raises his eyebrows. "Dude, you have a room all to yourself. You don't know how much Sam snores. Sometimes I just want to strangle him in his sleep." "I could enjoy the perks of a single room way more if there were any females under 50 here." "Boohoo, you perv." "I know." He quickly looks over to Kyle who's eyes are fixated on the screen, aiming at another player. He looks cu- Fuck. What is he doing? He shouldn't be here. "Actually I should probably leave now. I got homework to do." Kenny puts his controller down and slowly gets up from the bed. "You're a bad liar. Sorry if I was mean, you're a decent player." "No it's not that. Don't worry." Kyle looks up at him. "Then what's wrong?" "Nothing's wrong. But I should leave or..." Kenny bites his tongue. "What?" Kenny shakes his head, grinning nervously. Kyle laughs and grabs his arm, pulling him back down. "Or what? Say it!" They're faces are so close. Kenny looks into the green eyes and then at the lips. His brain screams no. His hands tremble. "Say. It." Kyle, who doesn't know what's going on inside his head right now, grins cheekily. "I could...end up...kissing you." Kyle's eyes widen and he pulls back a bit. He starts to blush. "Dude that's gay." "Yeah..." "Are you really that desperate?" "I'm sorry." Kenny robs back to get up but Kyle grabs his arm. "No...wait." Kenny doesn't know how to feel. He wants Kyle to let go of him, wants to leave and never talk to him again. He doesn't want to betray his best friend. But at the same time his whole body is longing for the touch. It us longing for love. Doesn't Kenny deserve at least a little bit of happiness as well? Just one kiss. Only one. He cups Kyle's face with his hands and leans forward until their lips are touching. And to his surprise Kyle doesn't pull back. The kiss is long and and at first very timid. But then it turns into a warm and sweet- No, what the fuck is he doing? He can't kiss Kyle, that's against the bro code. Stan will kill him! He wants to pull back but in that moment Kyle puts his arms around his neck, pulls him closer and lets out a soft sigh. A warm hand slides under his shirt. Kenny starts to forget everything around him. Stan, last summer, the tears. Only faint memories. But Kyle, he is here and he is real. Kenny pushes him back to lean over him. "Sup dude?" Kyle chuckles and grabs the collar of Kenny's shirt to pull him into another kiss.
Stan stands there, his eyes glued to his locker in disbelief. FAG it says in thick black letters. He can feel eyes drilling their way into his back. This can't be happening. He sprints to the nearest bathroom and pulls out his phone to call Kenny. The phone rings once. Twice. Stan's heart is racing. Please let this all be a dream. The tenth ringing. Why isn't he answering? Stan gets redirected to the mailbox. Fuck. The bathroom door swings open. "Marsh!" Stan swirls around and looks into the faces of three class mates. He barely knows them, mainly because they are assholes and bullies. Stan never had to worry about that though. Until now. "Heard your girlfriend broke up with you because you fucked some faggot at the party?" "I didn't fuck anyone. Leave me alone." He wants to walk past them to leave the bathroom but they block his way. "Why so aggressive?" The second one joins in. "Why did you do it? Is she bad in bed or have you just always been a fag?" Stan can feel his anger grow. Together with his despair. "Again, I didn't fuck anyone. What's your plan? You wanna beat me up?" One of the guys lets out a dry laugh. "We aren't going to beat you up in school. We ain't stupid. But next time you leave your house, be a bit careful." Stan wants to punch him in the face and break his nose but instead he presses himself through the boys and runs out of the bathroom. He can't deal with this. Not today. He needs to get home. And he needs to talk to Kenny.
