I awaken to Beth's aggravating radio blaryaning. I yank a cushy pillow to my grimaced expression. Mum leans against my door frame gripping onto a coral plate full of waffles. ''Give give'' I lean myself up with the palm of my elbow resting against my bed header. She hands the plate over before saying ''eat it quickly you've got school in..'' She pauses to glance at her watch ''half an hour.'' I nibble on the waffles leaning on my basketball-shaped pillow, which reminds me of Beth, whose my sister, she's been battling her illness for two years, some people say she's getting better, but everytime I look into those pallid grey eyes, that peculiarly compliments her powdered complextion, everytime I see her ear-length curls which once bounced softly from the botttom of her hips, I realise she's not the girl that I spent hours teaching how to skate, how to play guitar, competing in basketball with, that I spent all night sobbing to about boys and high school drama, she's now the girl that sits in her room listening to depressing songs and scribbling poems on a ripped piece of paper.
I lay out a range of winter clothes on my wine-bed sheets, there's not much of a selection seeing as three quarters of my drawers are filled with leggings sweaters, band tees and checked shirts, whereas the other quarter are mainly luxury dresses that I only wear on moddish and formal high class dinners or nights out. I yank on a burgundy sweater which attracts my azure bambi eyes, teamed with ebony skinny jeans. My casual every-day outfit. I grip onto my mobile, which I have 10 missed calls all from Courtney, she's my bestfriend. We hang around in a little group which goes, me, Courtney, Alex and Liv. Meet me at my lane, hurry, quick. Do you think I've got all day?' Basically read out the same thing 10 times. I race down to the kitchen where mums sat eyes froze on the newspaper, with a cup of tea gripped in her left hand. I chug down a glass of orange juice before pulling my harrington around myself. ''Have fun.'' Mum says peering over the rim of her glasses. ''Like that's going to happen.'' I chuckle before slamming the door behind myself and heading toward Courtney whose standing, her platinum waves flowing behind her gracefully that engages her fair tone. She slips her phone into her indigo pattern incrusted pocket. ''Hey.'' She greets myself after throwing her arms around my shoulders. ''Hiya'' I grin revealing two identical dimples placed on each side of my blushed cheeks. ''Let me take a look at your homework.'' She yanks the booklet from my hand-bag, that's the thing with me and Courtney she's the complete opposite to me. She's the type of girl who cheats on exams, who can say what she wants to whoever she wants, whereas I have confidence the size of a pea, she's the bad girl, I'm the good girl and I think that's how it's going to remain throughout the rest of high school.
My shoes play a tunefull rythm on the floorboards of Haywood High which enlightens my dull mood. I pull out my schedule which reads athletics, one of my weakest subjects. I head to my locker, where Liv's leaning against about a dozen other lockers. Her auraua curls trace her spine where her leggings start, which compliments her pear shaped figure. ''P.E next, you excited?'' She jokes, lining her teeth against her lower lip. ''Pel-ease'' I laugh grabbing my sport kit from my locker. ''Look at the weather'' she sighs pointing to the clouded window where sun rays beam from the baby blue sky causing boys to share p.e with the girls.
I arrive at the playing field where the groups of mixed genders are scattered around. ''Class'' miss yells grabbing our attention, before introducing a tall guy with a dirty-blonde parted quiff which towers above his olive complextion that contrats with his sapphire eyes. He fidgits with a sleeve of his leather jacket as miss introduces him as ''Hunter Daniels.'' He does this stupid half smile which causes my stomach to melt and reveals a small dimple at the tweek of his lip. ''He is hotttt'' Courtney squeels with excitement. I nod with agreement. ''So seeing as it's such lovely weather'' miss Price points to the indigo sky which everyone suddenly glares at, adding ''we're paring up boy girl, and I'll be choosing.'' She orders with a stern expression. Great, great, great. Miss Price is the only teacher that I dislike at this school. ''So, Courtney and Scott.'' Courtneys face lights up imediatly, she's been crushing on Scott Winters since as long as I could remember, I don't know wether it's his golden curls and deep blue eyes which attracts her or just his flirty attitude. ''And Caitlyn and Hunter.'' Her lips purse together. The words repeat over and over in my mind with a blend of Shit and a blend of Yay. The new guy stands beside me, ''hey'' I smie shyly, as soon as I meet eyes with him a warm tingling sensation fills my body. ''And you are?'' He crinkles his nose with a cocky tone. ''Caitlyn Wanchester, just because you're new it doesn't mean you have the right's to be a rude prick'' Maybe spending all this time with Courtney has made me a little more confident, in a good way and a bad way, but coming from this defiantly good. ''Do I really have to work with you?'' He scowls, adding ''I mean look'' he scans up and down my kit which there's really no dress code for so I'm wearing navy joggers twinned with a teal tank top. ''are you serious?'' He smirks, ''what?'' I knit brows. ''You're wearing like two clashing outfits'' he laughs, ''sorry and your an expert right'' I fold my arms across my torso. ''Anytime'' He ruffles his sleek do before smirking again. ''You know behaving in such a diva-ish attitude just makes you sound stupid.'' I flick my ponytail behind my shoulder.
