He dropped her back at Lisa’s place three days later after the incident with Balthazar. He had wanted to spend some time with her, so they took two days to spend time together. He didn’t worry about the war in heaven and she wouldn’t worry about Dean. So he took her to Italy, where they had fun. He learned to laugh and to smile more often and she was able to get him to wear jeans. Once he was ready to drop her off at home though, he had gone back to wearing a suit… she would be the only one to see him dressed in jeans. He brought her back to Lisa’s, dropping her off with a quick kiss and telling her, he would drop in to see her when he could. She didn’t know when that would be but she would wait for him. She went back into the house to see Dean and Lisa watching Gabrielle walk around the house. Gabrielle ran over to her mother and gave her a big hug.

“Hello mommy” The little girl spoke with a big smile. Kendra held her daughter close for a moment before Gabrielle pulled back and looked up at her. “Where’s daddy? Is he coming home soon?”

“No, baby, daddy won’t be home for along time” Kendra whispered softly as she tried to keep the tears out of her eyes and keep the sadness out of her voice. Lisa could hear it though; she had been through it enough times since Dean had come into her life to recognize it.

“Ben” Lisa looked to her son. He nodded at his mother, waiting for her to ask him her question. “Can you take Gabrielle into the other room and watch some cartoons; the three of us need to talk?”

“Alright” Ben took Gabrielle from Kendra and took her into the living room.

“What is going on?” Dean asked once they heard the sound of the tv playing in the living room. Kendra looked over at both Dean and Lisa. They were waiting for her to talk, to tell them what was going on.

“I’ve been seeing Cas” Kendra looked up at Dean. He moved over to her.

“Is that where that’s from” He gestured to the bruise on her neck. “Did he hurt you?”

“No…” Kendra sighed. How to explain without it sounding weird and without Dean and Lisa looking down on her? “Look … we have had sex… it got a little rough. Castiel is getting over a drinking problem and an anger problem… but we have been dealing with it together. The way a husband and wife should.”

“Kendra, I specifically told you to stay away from him” Dean was a bit angry. She could see it in his eyes and his tone of voice was angry. Dean grabbed her by the arms to make sure she was looking at him and listening “Do you think I would tell you not to do something for a reason? I knew he was dangerous right now, he’s a time bomb and he’s ready to go off at any time.”

“I am an adult. I can take care of myself” Kendra looked up at him as she pushed him away from her. “I know you want to protect me, but I’m not a child anymore. I can make my own choices and I am asking you nicely to back the fuck off” Kendra rarely swore so they knew that she was pissed

“I am trying to protect you and your daughter from getting hurt” Dean took a step towards her again. He could see her clench her fists at her sides.

“My daughter doesn’t need protection from her father” Kendra’s fist came up and she gave him a hard punch to the side of his face. His head jerked to the side and a bit of blood dribbled from his lip. Dean looked at her as he touched his bloody lip. “How dare you, Dean? He was … is your best friend… he has never done anything to make you think he would hurt me or Gabby”
