Grey skies and a fierce storm rained down that not even the flies dared to move from thier cover under the leaves.

But even in the terrible weather, not everyone was afraid to come out. A dark figure dressed head to toe in a black trench coat, walked down the pathway towards the door of the looming pack house. Glancing around continuously, wary of someone suspecting something, the dark figure drops a basket on the doorstep. The baby blue blanket stirs and the sleeping child awakes. Blinking its bright blue eyes at the figure, she reaches up to grasp his finger, but he gently places her hands back down with a sad smile on his lips.

Bright blue eyes and such blonde hair it looked white, the baby was truly beautiful. Those bright blue eyes watched as the figure it placed a necklace around its neck. With a heavy heart he places a gentle kiss on the babes head, turns away and walks away into the shadows of the night.

Unable to find the hooded figure again and darkness still looming over the sky, the babe cried out and thrashed about in the basket.

From the inside of the building, the aged cook heard the sad cries of the child. Wondering what could be happening, she followed the cries and came to a stop behind the closed door. Opening the door she looked down and saw the wailing child and instantly  her heart filled with compassion for the child.

Carefully she picks up the basket and carries the baby into the warmth of the house.

"What's your name little one?" She asked.

Turning the necklace around, she saw the initials 'A. V. A' engraved on it so decides to name the baby Ava.

But she couldn't figure out what A. V. A stands for.

Oh well.

That's a mystery for another day.

From the shadows of the forest, the dark figure watched this interaction and gave a satisfied sigh of relief knowing that his baby would live a good life. With one last longing look at the building, he turned on his heels and stated his long journey back home to his greiving wife.

He knew that his wife would grieve for years over their baby but they had both agreed that it was for the best to guarantee the baby's safety until things settled down.

Sighing into the night air he breathed those final words, only heard by the trees and the animals within.

"I'll be back for you Athena."

The storm continued to pour just as fiercely as it started and did not waver as if it didn't just witness the sad moment of a father having to give up his child for its safety.

That's just to show that the heavens don't give a rats care on what is happening down here on earth. At least that's what we think, but actually, they do. Looking down to earth watching the scene unfold, is the same goddess she was named after.

With a smile on her beautiful face she whispered back to the man.

"Indeed."
