Ash's POV
I am currently sitting in my room. Today was was quite eventful. It started with an early morning football practise, then Calem punching me at practise and then it ends with me and Serena agreeing to meet up tomorrow. I am lost in my thoughts and then my phone vibrates.

I look at the caller and I find out it's Miette. I never really liked Miette and found her quite annoying. Apparently, me and her were a thing, but she came over like 3 times for a history project and all she did was flirt and dramatize. We ended up getting a 52% on that project and I vowed not to do a project with her again.

I was stuck in my thoughts for so long that I ended up not picking up and it was sent to voice mail.

I press play and she says "Hey Ashy! It's Miette. We haven't talked in a while and I was wondering if you wanted to hang out some time tomorrow. If you're busy, I'm always available, we can hang another time. Anyways, have a good night, Ashy."

I replay what I had just heard in my head and I somewhat cringe. I never really liked Miette, but I didn't feel like saying no.

I then realize that me and Serena were hanging tomorrow. I guess I can leave her a message.

"Hey Miette, I'm actually busy tomorrow, but I guess we could hang some other time" I type and hit send.

Almost immediately she responds.

"Oh hey Ash" she responds.

"I understand that your busy, but I am hosting a party tomorrow night and all your friends are coming over. Can you please just clear your schedule and come just for a bit?" She sends.

I think for a bit and then begin to type. "I'll think about it and it's getting quite late, night Miette" I send.

"Good night Ashy" she responds.

I cringe and turn off my phone.

I look over to my nightstand and look at the time. 10:43 PM it reads. It is a good time to go to sleep but I can't seem to sleep.

I open my phone up again and open snapchat. I realize there are about 100 stories that I have unopened. I click the first one and it's a Miette's party invitation. I skip it and go to the next one. The next one is also an invitation.

I continue to skip the snap stories and for 5 minutes. This must be a really huge party. It kind of sucks I'm going to miss it.

Maybe I can convince Serena to come along, but I doubt she would want to.

Speaking of Serena, my phone begins to vibrate and it's her.

I answer.

"Hey Serena, what's up" I start the conversation.

"Oh nothing much, what about you Ash" she replies.

"I am reading manga" I say comedically.

"Wait, actually" she says. "Which one, I have some great suggestions for you" she screams enthusiastically.

"It was just a joke Serena, I don't actually read manga. But you clearly do" I laugh uncontrollably!

"SHUT UP ASHTON" she yells.

"Wow, no one calls me that but my mom" I joke.

"Whatever" she says in an annoyed tone.

I feel kind of bad about joking around with her. I'm going to stop being dumb now I guess.

"So, why'd you call me at nearly 11" I smirk as I say this realizing I said I would stop kidding around.

"Uhh, I Uh, it's not like that I swear! I just wanted to know if we're still on for tomorrow, you, know uh.. like studying at your.. um place" she responds.

"Oh right. Yeah, you can come over around 11 in the morning" I say.

"That sounds great, so what will we be studying" she responds.

"I don't know, why can't we just hang out like as friends" I say.

"F-friends" she says shakily.

"Yea, is there something wrong with that" I question.

"No, no, no, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that" she jumps. "This means I don't need to bring any books and such."

"Yea, I guess not. Also, why do you have this much energy this late at night" I chuckle.

"I do not" she yells at her phone.

"Careful, don't wake Grace up" I laugh.

We continue to laugh and talk for a while and soon enough I look at the time.

"Jeez, it's 11:57" I laugh.

"OMG, we have been talking for over an hour, I won't be able to get up in the morning" she says.

"Does this mean our convo has come to an end" I say while pouting.

"Cheer up, I know how badly you want to see me, you only have wait about 11 hours" she laughs and I simply smile.

"Yea, you're right" I respond genuinely.

If only she knew how much I like her company.

"Alright then, good night Ashton" she laughs.

I laugh and say "good night to you too Selena."

"Haha, wait what did you just call me.." she screams before I cut the call as I die in laughter.

Before I go to sleep I open up my contacts list and press on her name. I tap edit name and beside the name "Serena", I put the heart emoji and smile.

Man this girl is amazing.

If only she knew how.
