Foreword:
When I was a kid, I was afraid of monsters in the closet. Afraid that they would eat my dreams and infect my nightmares. But we had one all-important weapon. Light. A flick of a switch and all fear would dissipate from the room, along with the monsters that caused it. Since our conception we were taught that light means safety. As though any demon is scared away by a little piece of glass plugged into a wall. We held tightly to this belief, and thought it was unshakable. Until we ventured outward. We found gargantuan beasts consuming all in their way, massive unstoppable forces impossible to escape. We thought our light could protect us.
It couldn't.
They swallowed our light and devoured our hope. Un-tameable creatures of darkness impossible to contain. Only an insane man would come face to face with them, for those who have never return.
