Same Night - Jade Wolf

Luke walked out of the kitchen with Clary, Kasey and Jace following "How could you not tell me that?"

"The Downworld would be in total chaos if they knew what the Sword could do" Clary told him.

"There would be uprisings everywhere" Kasey added.

Luke turned to them "So you're saving the Downworlders from themselves? We never asked"

"We didn't even know that Valentine could activate the Sword until we realized he had an Angel" Clary told him, "Luke, I didn't want you to worry"

"Well, it's too late for that" Luke told them.

"Look, you don't understand, all right-" Jace began.

"No" Luke told them "I do understand. He has my sister" Jace, Kasey and Clary looked at each other, "What else aren't you three telling me?"

Clary looked at Jace and Kasey. Kasey shrugged. Jace nodded.

Clary looked at Luke "The Angel, he... he showed us something"

"Just now, on the rooftop, he showed the three of us a vision of a demon that could destroy the Sword" Jace told him.

"How do you know that's what he was telling you?" Luke asked.

"There's no other explanation" Kasey told him, "When the demon touched the Sword, he and the Sword both disintegrated"

"Luke, it was a demon I'd never seen before" Jace told him.

Kasey nodded in agreement, "Me neither"

"Then go find it" Luke told them, "I'll head out and see if that bastard left any clues for us to track him down"

Luke turned around, walking out, leaving.

Day - Magnus' Apartment - Balcony

Jace and Kasey were sitting on a couch, looking through books. They looked tired and frustrated.

A few cats were around, meowing.

Kasey had a cat in her lap, patting it's head absentmindedly. Another car was rubbing against her leg, purring. She patted its head for a moment.

Jace looked at the cats, giving Kasey an amused smile, looking back at his book.

A cat was next to him, rubbing against him, purring.

Jace looked annoyed, "Magnus!"

Kasey looked up, snickering "Give them attention. How hard is that?"

Jace gave her a sarcastic, annoyed look.

Kasey smiled sweetly, shrugging innocently.

Magnus walked out, "Aw! Salut, mon petits chats. You're new, aren't you?" He conjured bowls with milk on the floor with his magic. The cats ran closer to it. Kasey pouted when the cat in her lap went to the bowl with milk. Magnus looked at them, walking closer "I spoil them. I can't help it. It's the only way to win them over"

Jace sighed "Well, I guess when you put your mind to it, you can win over just about anyone, huh?"

Magnus frowned "You're talking about Alec"

Magnus sat down on a chair.

Kasey closed the book, looking at them.

"Look, I've been there" Jace told him "I know it's a whirlwind fling that burns so hot all it can do is flame out"
